I saw the video a few weeks ago. I found it very interesting that a advertising character led to the demise of an entire chain!

I imagine it was a combination of things.

They probably had a deficient business model.

I loved their food, but there were always BOGO coupons which I always used and I'm sure a lot of other people did too.

So they were basically selling their sandwiches for half price.

Can't stay in business like that.

OTOH, Burger King does the same thing.

They've always got coupons out and I never go there without one.

Half-price is definitely not a good strategy-long term.

I always go to BK with coupons too.
