^ There's another hearing aid commercial in which a father (upper 60s) and his son (maybe 45) are doing some woodworking in a workshop and, out of nowhere, the son lifts his head up and says "I love you, Dad".

It just seems kinda awkward and cringe-worthy.

At your age, memories often get mixed together and confused.

Are you sure you aren't remembering some father/son gay porn video you watched?

LOL, but I prefer my gay daddy porn to be father porn, as in "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned..." Hey, I was a Catholic school kid.

I'll try to find the commercial once I get the name of the actual product.

I know the one you're talking about.

It runs around here a lot too.

The one where at the end, dad says "What?" then "I heard you the first time, I just wanted to hear it again".

f**king gross.

Who blubbers that kind of gushy sh*t with their old man?

My dad and I barely spoke to each other most of our lives.

Say something to my old man and he'd do the old Hank Hill thing on you....

This modern generation is a bunch of girly men.

Zippy agrees and adding insult to injury? Especially early in the China Virus there were a lot of these commercials showing people with IV's, blood transfusions, giving blood eeeyyyick, hurl. I'm squeamish ok? I admit it. I got a week stomach for all that gorey TMI medical sh*t. That and the weeper melodramatic stuff. I swear Covid /Kung Flu even seeped into commercials for adult diapers and period stuff. More bodily fluids FCS! The rest of the commercials mentioned are all formidable contenders. An up and comer for dishonerable mention? Those creepy VW adds where its fast action. A nice chick gets knocked up and the whole shebang flys at hyperspeed including curdle babie morphing into spoiled little lamb sheeple. Um that VW may make it through the diaper stage unless mom and baby succomb to the foul emissions. Remember VW fudging those figures?

Just saw it a minute ago.

It's for Hearing Assist, which as it turns out, is (or has recently become) a Walmart affiliated brand.

I kind of enjoyed this parody version...

I'll just keep this short: Anything showing someone wearing a mask. Makes my blood turn into cholesterol and triglycerides.

Yeah, I've seen that one. She also says that being at work (a large industrialized Amazon warehouse) is like being in a candy shop.

I think she's been drinking the hand sanitizer. I mean, isn't thst stuff like 60 or 70% alcohol?

Literally ANYTHING, that STILL, 5 or 6 months after the pandemic started, uses the "We're in this together" or "Now, more than ever" tropes.

I have the TV on in the background and one of those commercials literally started to play in the background right as I started tying "We're in this together."  I sh*t you not.

Not  trying to get political but I am going to say the swarm of political attack ads. Is it just me or do they get worse each election cycle? I live in the Chattanooga media market which includes southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia so every election I have to deal with ads from both states.

First this year I had to deal with Mike Bloomberg's non-stop barrage of ads. Then since Tennessee has an open senate seat this year there were the primary ads where both candidates spent the time attacking the other one rather than  talking about what they were going to do and since I live in Georgia I have zero interest in either candidate. With that said I have a feeling that the worst is yet to come. Georgia is a swing-state at the presidential level and also has two senate races that are going to be very tight. Also there still is the general election for the open Tennessee senate seat but at least that one is pretty much set how it is going so I don't expect a lot from that one. But hey November 4th it will all be over with right? Wrong. Then will come the Chattanooga Mayor Election which is an open seat.

Oh yeah, I feel your pain. I live in one of those metro areas that straddle a state line. Of course I get both states' advertising. An ad supporting one candidate ridicules one of her opponent's ads, interrupting the video clip with that record-scratched-by-stylus sound effect.

And so many of them are from super-PACs!

It's been a while...

Before the pandemic
Limu Emu and the pathetic jingle that needs to go now.
TurboTax bringing back the 'free free free' s--t including the 'Pyramid' parody. Good god almighty what an annoying commercial!

During/after (?) pandemic
ALL COVID-19 ads. All of them. Every single one. Did you know my TV has still been (mostly) off all these months later?
Show some doctors in surgical gear, some essential workers wearing masks, some masked grocery customers, a family at home, their child (or children) waving and smiling at a teacher on a computer screen, add some somber piano music, some dialogue about 'these challenging times', 'so-and-so hashtag STRONG', 'we look forward to seeing you soon', 'we can do this' and BOOM. Covid 'we're in this together' ad.
Insert logo of ANY product or business of your choice.
Back after a long absence...still hating those commercials. Go away Limu Emu and Doug!

So much for "a picture is worth a thousand words." The juxtaposition of pit and juice are enough to keep me from tapping that damn play button.
