Okay, here we go...knew this one would be coming eventually!

From www.businessinsider.com

Dentists and hair salons are adopting COVID-19 surcharges even after backlash in the restaurant industry

I haven't eaten out at a restaurant in ages, so I didn't know they were charging a surcharge to cover the cost of masks, cleaning supplies, etc., plus the rising cost of meat.   Some surcharges are a percentage of the ticket, 6-10 percent.  Some are as high as a flat $10.00.  They say it will be taken off when COVID goes away, but I think they are "cutting off their nose to spite their face" in this instance.  A lot of people who have been supporting their favorite restaurants through all this and handing out huge tips are annoyed and offended by getting slammed with a surcharge.    I'm sure some people think the surcharge is fine, but a lot won't, and tips will probably return to the normal 15-20%.  The only ones losing are the wait staff.

And now the dentists and hair salons are following suit?  Like I said...here we go!

Yeah, the TV news had a story about this today.
The best thing to do is ask if they have a 'surcharge' before you order, or even sit down.  If they do, walk out, and tell them why.  Better yet, tell the manager, then take your business elsewhere.
If enough people do this and 'name & shame' the offenders (ain't social media great? ), this sh*t will end, fast...
