I generally hate the insurance company ads but this is pretty good. Probably because of the music. Don't think I ever heard of Ratt before but I could listen to this for a while. |

Yeah, I like that one too.
Always liked that song. I think that's the only Ratt song I'm familiar with. |

I searched on rat and came up with nothing before posting, at least on the first page of search results I looked at.

That's 'cuz the word "rat" (or "ratt") appears nowhere in that other post. It's in the video deascription, but that doesn't count. |

I did a little reading up on them and was surprised to find out that even though they only had one big hit song that's instantly recognizable and associated with them, they were actually very successful in terms of popularity, and record sales. Per Wikipedia, Ratt... "...had significant commercial success in the 1980s, with their albums having been certified as gold, platinum, and multi-platinum by the RIAA. The group is perhaps best known for hit singles such as "Round and Round" and "Lay It Down", tracks that ranked on Billboard's top 40 at No. 12 and No. 40, respectively," I'm guessing they made (and went through) a pretty good bit of money. The money from this Geico ad is probably going into their retirement fund. |

I wasn't into them or that kind of music at all, but I've always known the name. That would make them pretty big.

Never heard of any song by that name, though apparently there's a quite fun looking movie.... The only similar sounding song I know of is that one by "The Nuge" back in his pre-rightwing goofball, gun stroker days.... |

uuhh RAT scratch fever MAY be a take-off on the O.G. known as Cat Scratch Fever by everyones crazy uncle Teddy..hello? People? My Ted story is we attended a day long concert in Denver mostly to see Ted but by the time he SWUNG onto the stage in his loincloth we were so fatigued by music we left about 4 songs in-he was damn loud & obnoxious-of course The Rockets-The Cars-Heart & Teddy-that was a long ass day i always took Ratt to be a sleazier Aerosmith knockoff myself-much like Buckcherry who we may see on some kind of 'retro' ad at some point in THEIR 'career'

Okay. here's the poop from someone who knows. I was a R&R DJ when the band and the album came out. The band's name is "RATT" ... 2 T's. This was in the mid 80's when heavy metal mated with hair bands. This is the result. Actually, if I had not HAD to play it all the time, I would have liked it. To hear it now is like a 'Nam flashback.
I DO appreciate the humor of the ad though. |

If you've got a Ratt problem, just set out a trap loaded with a contagiously diseased hooker (bait and poison together...)

Ah, yes... Ratt. ... I used to have MTV on non-stop in the summertime in the mid '80s. This was one of those bands that whenever they were on I would roll my eyes and channel surf for a few minutes.

Not that I am a fan of the Band Poison or anything, but it would be kind of funny if they said they took care of them with Poison and then show the band Poison singing one of their songs. But then again Peta would probably get all butt hurt over the commercial lol
