Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart has died at age 67. RIP to a rock icon. |

Yeah, Rush seems to be one of those love 'em or hate 'em bands. I had one friend in the late 80's who was really into them. He played bass in a metal band. Big fan of Geddy Lee. Had a neighbor across the hall around the same time who couldn't stand them. Said Geddy sounded like a chipmunk. I saw Rush in concert back around the early 90's with another friend. Seats were real close to the stage too, but just off to the side, so we got a good view, though from a sharp angle. Good concert, but they didn't play Limelight, which is the one song I wanted to see them do. Bastards. |

I wasn't a fan, but I once heard a Rush song that sounded like Black Sabbath. In fact, I thought it was, until Lee's vocals started in. Can't stand that voice.
Oh, the song was Working Man, and it was recorded before Peart was in the band. RIP, Neil. |

I love Rush, and Neil Peart OC was such a legendary drummer. He was also a good chap in his private life. He called himself a left-leaning libertarian, and he was also against racism.
R.I.P. Neil Peart!
