Well, Sling TV has finally crossed that line. The line between "mildly annoying" and "destroy destroy destroy." They managed to find two of the most unfunny entertainers of this century: Nick Offerman, ridiculous beard and all; and Megan Mullally, skanky delusional attention whore. I mean, WTF is this? They're taking this increasingly STUPID sexual innuendo junk and practically turning it into a trashy mini-sitcom. Seriously, did Mullally raid Katey Sagal's old Peg Bundy wardrobe for this schlock fest? Get this garbage outta here. Get it out. Get out. OUT. And another thing...
GET IT OUTTA HERE! |

Offerman was pretty good as beef loving man's man Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, where his real life wife Megan Mullaly occasionally appeared as his on screen ex-wife Tammy...
...but I'm tiring of him these days. Now he's doing a sort of reality show with Any Pohler, the blonde in the P&R clip I posted, called Making It. |

I do not know either name, haven't seen the commercials, haven't played the embedded because I do not want to remember a new set of names getting their 90 seconds of fame. Another real husband-wife duo invading the commercial moments? No thanks, had enough with Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell.
And beards, like tattoos, are just another badge of insecurity.. |

If you knew a little more about Offerman you might not brush him off so easily. The man possess an expertise in boat building, wood working and furniture making on a level that he could easily have his own woodworking show on PBS... Offerman Wood Shop website link A little bit of bio: In 2009, The Office producers Michael Schur and Greg Daniels offered Offerman a regular supporting role in their NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation: that of Ron Swanson, the deadpan, government-hating head of a city parks department and boss of Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope. Slate magazine declared Offerman "Parks and Recreation's secret weapon", and said he regularly stole scenes and "has a gift for understated physical comedy." The role weaves antagonism and political philosophy with humanity, while the intense libertarian philosophy the character lives out is often played off against the equally intense liberalism and 'do-gooder' mentality of Poehler's character. Offerman said that... he draws particular inspiration from Reverend Jim Ignatowski, the character played by Christopher Lloyd in the sitcom Taxi. In addition to acting, Offerman is also a professional boat builder and has a side business as a wood craftsman. Offerman makes furniture and other wooden structures such as canoes and boats at his woodshop. He also released an instructional DVD in 2008 titled Fine Woodstrip Canoe Building with Nick Offerman, shot by Jimmy DiResta. Diresta's pay for shooting the DVD was a canoe, the second Offerman has built. On whether he is a libertarian like his character Ron Swanson, Offerman has stated, "While I admire the philosophy of the libertarian mindset, I think it's proven to be ineffectual in actual governance. So no, I'm not. I'm a free-thinking American." Pretty cool guy, for Hollywood anyway. |

He's getting a bit omnipresent, though. |

That's nice. He should stick to building boats, and get the hell off of my TV screen.
And I don't watch that show. No interest in it whatsoever. Comedy TV is dead. |

Sling TV is wearing this stupid idea out...If they were really going for 'Swingers'. They would have some good wife swapping porn on their service.

()That's all fine and good. Looks like his parents raised him right and he landed well...but the first I see of him is the commercial - never heard of him, wasn't looking for him, or to meet him...and I don't watch 'Parks & Recreation'...so he's just another beardo to me <splllltttzzzz!!!>. |

Comedy TV might not be dead if you'd actually try, I don't know, watching it before forming an opinion on it. |

OK this asshole is supposed to make me laugh, right? I'm sorry, but I look at him and all I can think about is either changing the channel or punching him in the face.

You for real? Are you actually saying you determine someone's comedic prowess by how they look? Is there some kinda metric for it? Like "this guy's face doesn't appeal to me so he can't be funny, but this dude, he has a nice face, I bet he's hilarious"? |

Yeah, I'm for real. Too bad. Deal with it. And no, I don't determine someone's "comedic prowess" by how they look. I determine someone's "comedic prowess" by them making me laugh. Not only is this guy fugly as f*ck, but nothing I have ever heard him say has made me laugh or would make me watch an entire 20+ minute show of him and his "comedic prowess." *click* ... NEXT.

Why people think a beard is cool is far beyond me and I used to be quite the catch with my red, always very well groomed and short-cropped beard. In fact, made me SO handsome that if I were a female back then I would have done anything to date me! Now? I keep a constand 5-o'clock shadow because these kids have ruined the art and all think they will be meeting up with Billy Gibbons and now look like they should be housing assorted worms, insects, and bird nests on their face.

I don't know about comedy TV, but I've seen approximately 11,000 sets of live stand-up comedy---mostly between 1980 and 1985 when I worked as doorman at a small comedy club in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury. At one point, I was probably the foremost expert on live comedy in SF. |

I think my mother hated my beard in the 1970s, too. Said it made me look like Jesus. Hmmmm...maybe she actually did like it. |

Nick Offerman is really funny on Parks and Rec. People do have different tastes but I've known people who hate Seinfeld with a passion and that show is considered #1 comedy of all time.
