One of the retro channels did a Coach marathon just a couple of weeks or so ago.
Might not have been a marathon, but it was more than one episode. Poor Jerry. Always the "other" Van Dyke. Musta been like being James Taylor's brother Livingston. Or Ron Howard's brother Clint. "WHO????" RIP JVD. |

I remember Coach well, what a great show! I remember a few years back watching the show it was the episode where Jerry's character refused to take the team on an airplane cause he was afraid of it crashing. So they took the train! I remember it vividly when the train suddenly stopped and Jerry suddenly exclaimed "IMAGINE IF THAT HAPPENED AT 35,000 FEET! WE'D BE DOOMED!" Oh Jerry we're gonna miss you!
Coach is one of those shows that hasn't been seen a lot on retro tv. Tis a shame it's a great show! |

One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Jerry Van Dyke, bro of Dick, co-star of Coach, dead at age 86.
Now I feel bad having mocked his sitcom, My Mother the Car, a few weeks ago on CIH. RIP, Jerry. |
