How do you get people to pay attention to your ads? Karaoke-esque versions of a great song from a classic holiday flick with lyrics to fit the ad...

Stupidest lyrics ever, lamest singing ever, very irritating commercials completely butchering Lindsey Buckingham's "Holiday Road" which, funnily enough, has a very limited range of lyrics:

I found out long ago
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Take a ride on the West Coast kick
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road

I found out long ago
It's a long way down the holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road
Holiday road

Songwriter: Lindsey Buckingham

I too started a thread. SEARCH FOR Happy Honda Days. I hate this song in it's original form. This ads insult to injury. Several years ago Honda tortured us with Holiday by that lump wristed hipster group Vampire Weekend named Holiday. I loathe Christmas and the commercials and XMAS music.
I approve this message.

Oi! Don't loath Christmas! It's a joyous time of year for the celebration it's intended for. I loath the commercialisation of the holiday season, but not the birth of Christ.

This is Lindsey Buckingham at his most Kenny Loggins-ish...swap this with Caddyshacks 'I'm Alright' for virtually the same song

I love the fact we have multiple threads going simultaneously! Goes to show a commercial exists that is creating enormous dislike from all over. If I owned Honda stock right now, I think I might be a 'seller'LOL'
One wonders if Honda looks at little sites such as CIH and takes note....

At work, which is absolute hell during the Christmas season, and Ground Zero for the commercialization of the holiday, I've begun to say "I'm starting to resent the Baby Jesus".  I'm looking forward to Christmas Day only for the fact that it marks the beginning of the end for this hell.

I guess we could say no one person in the history of mankind has influenced the most commercialism in the world than the Son of God, Our Savior*.  But I feel it's a fault and failure of mankind, not Jesus.

True, but even "I'm Alright" had some musical value. At least it kinda rocked a little. Had a bit of attitude.

"Holiday Road" in it's original form is only slightly less gay than these limp-wristed commercial versions.

Hell, I was at that point 30 years ago!!!!

I used to tell people that my favorite day of the year was January 2nd because that marked the official end of the holiday season and the day that life returned to normal.

Don't feel that way so much anymore, now that I don't have to go out in it and wrack my brain shopping for the right gift for each person on my list.

Yeah, I guess I was, too...but working in retail just reinforces it---times 10.

One of my best friends in SoCal Attended High School with Kenny Loggins. He was 2 years behind. He said he knew who Kenny was but didn't really know him. I have heard Kenny identified as the "soundtrack guy". My 2 y/o Granddaughter liked "Danger Zone" At the age now of 17 probably not so much. Loggins and Messina's "Angry Eyes" is one of my favorite songs.

well in the space of time that I've been sitting here, reading and responding to posts, let's say about 40 minutes or so, I have been half listening to Q13 News Seattle, and have heard the "Holiday Road" commercial 6.5 times, I say 6.5 because as it started up for the 7th time I grabbed the remote and switched it... and it landed on another channel playing the Holiday Road commercial!! WTF?! For the love of god, make it stop....

Part of the problem there is that nothing about Loggins has ever said "danger".  And the song itself sounds about as dangerous as I'm a Little Teapot.

I have had the same experience this morning on KPTV12 Portland, OR. I have only owned one Honda and it had two wheels. I have never had anything against Honda cars but their commercials have ensured I will never buy one.Angry

Getting tortured with this EVERY tv break on NHL broadcasts. Every year car companies try to outdo each other with the idea of a car being the best holiday gift. Looking at you Lexus, Nissan and Honda.
