Lindsay Buckingham is just enough of a jerk that he would sell out 'Holiday Road', but only if it was sung about a half-key off. Just enough to really piss off people that enjoy the song, but heck - we're probably not the 'target market', no. Hondas are made to be marketed to the 'sag-bag' crowd - people with hair growing out their ears or those clearly wearing an oversized skin suit even though the song they've bastardized is from the sunny, funny days of OUR youthful summers.
Now let ol'Paw apologize in advance to all you CIH spermisstakes under 40 who prolly are right now questioning if you are a result of Mommy & Daddy banging in the backseat while 'Holiday Road' was on the radio...I think you should go ask immediately. Lindsay Buckingham version made for the movie 'Vacation' with Chevy Chase back when real men could wear pink shirts and get away with it (about 1983). |

I never thought Honda could bottom out with the happy Honda days commercial by Vampire Weekend. Now we get to be bombarded by a limp wristed veraion of thia song. Sorry, I never liked Holiday Road though I liked Vacation and feel its still funny. And we still get as a bonus anal intruder; Vampire Hipster Weekend croaki ng out Holiday for? Xfinity! Can't we skip the holirays for one year! Gotta go, my cat is reking havoc atop my laptop.

Those fu@%ing commercials aired like 20 times last night. Talk about the smarmiest off key white people to croak out an already detested pos from the Aidsees. Makes me pine for the breathy vocal fry waifs. And those f×$;ing jingle bells. Rivals Vampuke Weekend.

I was never a Lindsay Buckingham fan, so I never heard this song until I heard on the National Lampoon Christmas movie.
The fact that this ad is ran constantly each night has made me detest that song completely.

Lindsay Buckingham is an 'acquired taste' - he really is very talented and has written some great music, but then again, he has written a lot of crap, too. The big problem is he USED to be totally full of himself, now he doesn't seem so much so...but he would have had to sign off on this I suppose, so I think he still has some 'jerk' left in him.
