There are a couple of dad-bashing ads that I saw recently (don't have any videos posted of them):

1.  Little Caesar's:  The dad brings home pizza for dinner and tells his son that he got a great deal on it.  But the boy notices that it's a LC box and apparently berates his dad for it.  It so happens that the dad is wearing a "#1 Dad" hat, and the son reaches up and tears off the "#1" part, leaving "Dad" to remain.

2.  AFLAC:  A dad is out in his front yard playing with his kids and his nose gets broken.  So the mom (his wife) fusses at him because now there's a choice between getting his nose fixed or taking a trip to Hawaii.  Naturally the kids say "Hawaii".   The idea is if the family had AFLAC insurance, then they wouldn't have to choose.  But hey, who cares about the dad's nose, as long as the whole family gets to go on vacation?

I may have some of the details wrong, but you get the point.

The first one seemed rude. Switch the sexes and there would be a hullabaloo over it

I HATE the second one. So aggrivatingly annoying!

Why does the kid care if his dad got a "good deal" on the pizza? Little f**ker ain't paying for it himself, he should be glad he got pizza at all. Dad should be like well junior, since you're not happy with this, hope you like it when it's time for dinner tomorrow and you find a a big can of f**king spinach, eat that up you little sh*t.

If any of my children acted like those brats, they'd be orphans.

aka ron, your boredom is our treasure.  Thx!  I've seen both these commercials.  The white male father figure is alive and well and continuing to be bashed all to hell in TV Ad Land.  I hate both commercials.  No wonder there is so little respect for parents and elders these days.  They see it on TV and emulate it!  Evil Smile  That wife is a bitch.  Angry

Little Bored Pizza Kid is doing his best Michael Corleone impression, and failing miserably.  I'd take that video controller and feed it to him for dinner AngryAngry.  After that, he can sleep in the garage for a few weeks.

IMHO, both of those commercials are about as subtle as an anvil dropped on your head..........

Also appears the message on the LC commercial isn't clear - the father *didn't* get a LC pizza, which is why the son is displeased.

More specifically, he didn't get the new Little Caesar's "ExtraMostBestest" pizza for $6.

To be fair, black males get bashed, too.  But they can only be bashed by other blacks---specifically, their black wives and kids.

As long as the bashee is male, then it's OK.  A huge uproar would ensue if a man even slightly put down a woman in TV Ad Lane.

For the LC commercial...that brat son controls the father? That's utter disrespect and unfunny! If that was my son, he'd be grounded for a month!

And here's a better idea for the Aflac commercial...

After the son and mom elect Hawaii...dad's nose bleeds even more and passes-out for losing blood and all he says is..."guys...I really need to go see the doctor...I'm losing feeling in my body"...then the mom and son drive-off to Hawaii leaving dad for dead.

Sounds cruel, but the those commercials were already cruel to begin with!
Thank God for kids who love Obscure Things.
