Has anyone else noticed that, in commercials for prescription drugs, any doctor shown is ALWAYS a woman?

Coincidence? I think not.

That comes, of course with the disclaimer "actor portrayal" so not even really a doctor. Just eye candy for dudes and soothing for women who don't like male doctors

I think it just comes down to our culture, men and women are more open to consultation from a female. This is the same reason that digital assistants (Siri, Cortana, etc) and GPS systems usually use female voices. In some other countries and cultures, male voices are more common.

I thought Cortana was "trans"?
Anyway, I use "Daniel" on my Garmin GPS, even though he has a british accent.
Quick, concise and to the point, just like a man.

"Take Exit-3, then turn left".

As opposed to the default female voice:
"In 1 mile, take Exit-3, on right, to Blah-Blah-Blah street, then keep left."
With all that jabber, sometimes you miss turns that are spaced close together.
And I don't care to know the name of the exit street (esp. if it has more than one name).
Just tell me where to turn!
