...but not anymore because she's dead.

Erin Moran, the actress who played Richie Cunningham's younger sister Joanie on Happy Days then later on the spinoff series Joanie Loves Chachi, has passed away at the age of 56.

Cause of death is, as yet, unknown.

RIP Erin Moran.

Per Wikipedia...

In 2017, Variety magazine said she "had fallen on hard times in recent years. She was reportedly kicked out of her trailer park home in Indiana because of her hard-partying ways".

I feel kinda bad for her.  Sounds like she'd been going through hard times ever since her TV show ended and she couldn't get new acting jobs.

RIP to her.

Yeah, I read that she was already battling depression decades ago after her last show ended and she couldn't get any acting roles anymore.

Too bad she couldn't, or just didn't, figure out some other way to capitalize on her TV fame. Maybe try to do commercials or get into PR or real estate or something. Even try her hand at stage acting in live theater. Probably nowhere near as much money, but a decent and respectable living nonetheless.

Turning to booze and drugs is just the lazy way of dealing with your problems.

Confusedyeeeaaaaaaaa.....I noticed she snatched her 'MudMonkey Merit Badge' and only then realized how long she has been out of the spotlight and how sad it all was. May she find peace on the other side.

Stage-4 Cancer, is what I read. I liked her, and always wish she had done more.

If she was not able to parlay her fame and notoriety into a second career she must not have tried very hard. With her looks, fame and public image, she should have had a myriad of career opportunities available to her, many of which that wouldn't have required a lot of hard work. Corporate PR spokesperson for one. Local news, etc.

Guess she figured acting was the only thing she could or wanted to do.

Maybe drugs had a hold on her and she lost focus...I've seen too many good people get lost that way.

Yeah, but that's why intelligent people who care about their health and their future and who are predisposed to think beyond the moment, don't let themselves fall into that lifestyle to begin with.

Occasional drinking and maybe smoking a little weed is one thing, but when you start snorting various powdered chemicals and gobbling pills etc, you're sending yourself down that bad old road with the ultimate DEAD end.

Too bad she didn't see life differently. There's no reason, other than having ALLOWED drugs and alcohol to control her life, that she shouldn't have had a happy and successful life after her acting career stalled.

With her looks and fame, she could've easily gotten a cushy corporate job just about anywhere.

Shame.
