This guy is my favorite YouTube musician.

His name is Christopher White, but he calls himself "Isto" as a kind of facetious jab at these guys nowadays named Christopher who call themselves "Topher".

He lives in NY, got a degree in music from Wesleyan College and now teaches guitar.

And an awesome guitar player he is. Check out the chord arrangements he uses.

All the covers he does of other songs have much more complex arrangements than the same ones you see by other players, and often, even more complex than the original composer/performer.

He also tends to infuse his videos with an odd, Monty Python-esque style of humor, occasionally wearing odd hats while he plays, or at the end of his videos, he suddenly jumps up and runs away with his guitar in hand.

I'm going to start posting more stuff by him.

Check out the chords he uses, then watch to the end.

LOLThat guy was not only GOOD, he is funny! I loved the 'end & run'.

He does that or some variation of it at the end of all his videos.

This was the first Isto video I saw and the one that got me started.

Do yourself a favor and watch this all the way thru.

Such a pleasure to watch a real musician...

One of my favorites I immediately thought of as I was giving a speech to some 'up and coming' staff this morning as they take on newer and greater efforts...but they don't know the efforts are purposely 'booby-trapped'Wink all over. It's all about failure and learning how to turn it around on itself and into success while maintaining positive relationships - something I set up when I see the need to increase staffing (such as now). I cannot use 'book-smart' people. There will be great individual effort to go with teamwork, sweat, hurt, pain, and maybe tears - may even lose a few prospects.
These are very important times, formative times.

Confused...after 2 straight days of really stranger-than-life dreams, ol'mule's Isto-contros, and the heat where I woke up believing every bit of dreamtime was reality...kind of like that Paw-skewered soap opera, 'Dreams of Our Lives'?

An old friend stopped by, a friend of my wife attended the Billy Joel concert at Lambeau Field on Saturday.

I asked her if he played this great song.

Sometimes, the live recordings are better than the studio version.

One of my faves by them!

Few live albums are great, though.  Allman Bros, Lou Reed and Peter Frampton are among the few.
