DisapproveSometimes the naked truth can just make everyone sick and I'm sure sick of this commercial. Certainly many of us have heard the name 'Erin Brockovich'... http://www.brockovich.com/
Well, PUR reminds us of how unsafe our water really is and a simple 'flip' over to Erin Brockovich's site reminds us of how criminal our local governments really are...so, PUR wants you to know they exist to HELP save you from getting any more sick than you may realize you already are.
I'm tired of it, doncha know.
And the commercial?
I'm especially tired of the ever-so-politely disturbed clown at 1:19 in - "I am...that's not good...not good"...too passive, too polite. He needs a good kick in the tail to help him grow a spine, take action, and give his life meaning.

It doesn't help starts out reminding me of the Cologuard commercial and the fact they 'collect and ship samples', just like in the 'Water Bar' commercial. Just imagine them both using the same collection and shipping group and ooohhhh, for grins & giggles,  what it would be like to find out that 'samples got switched up'.Dead

I agree with the thoughts above...is it better than a Brita?

Reminds me of that Bill Murray ad for "Swill" on SNL in the 70's

Erin Brockovich was a true (probably over dramatized, but true) story about the real life Erin's battle against Pacific Gas & Electric over the pollution of water supplies with the chemical hexavalent chromium.  A quick search of both Pur and Brita showed me that neither filter will filter out hexavalent chromium.  So while Pur might filter out some sediment in water, it won't do a thing for the Erin Brockovich chemical.

There are groups of us who speak through her ongoing efforts.
Right.  I only posted what I did because I wasn't sure if Pur was trying to claim that they can scrub hexavalent chromium or if they were trying to piggyback on Erin's notoriety to sell their product.

Oh, not a chance. Worse than that? Look up levels anywhere in the USA - NOT pretty.

There was actually an article in our local newspaper about a month and a half ago that said that our area is too high.
