Yes!
Nobody "loves" their car when it breaks down. And eventually it will!
I'm just sorry iSpot did not show a screen shot of that beautiful German Shepherd.

Was gonna start a thread about this crap. Just started running around here a week or so ago.
That damned awful singing splits my skull open every time I hear it. Ugh!!! I guess the adholes who contrived it feel that as long as there's some kind of worthy cause involved, they can make the commercial as obnoxious and nauseating as they want to. |

Honestly, WHAT is it with Subaru and "love"?
I "might" be OK if say, a weed killer company or a firearms manufacturer wanted to use the "love" meme. Simply for the irony, if nothing else. But for Subaru...? It's retarded.

^ It's in relation to some charitable contribution gimmick they're doing to get people to buy their cars. First, make a sappy commercial that gives people the false impression that they're a sensitive and caring corporation. Then, donate a crap load of money to charity, increase their sales, and write the donation off their taxes.
The contrived cultural diversity in the commercial just makes me want to puke. |

Subaru AdTards have it far to easy. While their Madison Avenue counterparts have to pitch concept after concept to the client. Subaru just says any piece of crap is fine as long as the theme is love.

I don't like the sappy singing.
But some of these people sure have put in a lot of work. Tigran Nahabedian is the young junior park ranger that is in one of these commercials - and he sure has done a lot of community service for the national parks and forests! Hundreds and hundreds of hours, plus a plethora of badges for his work. May he keep it up and help keep our forests alive!

Back after a long absence...still hating those commercials. Go away Limu Emu and Doug!

I don't know why ad agencies have this fetish for "ordinary folks" doing unbelievably horrific singing on commericals. The people who produce these ads should be subjected to brutal torture. And even then, it won't be comparable to the torture they subject us to by running these awful ads.

These commercials are simply non-descript - they don't bother me, I never notice them, I'm not part of Subaru's target market, I suppose...but I still realy, kinda, sort of want one.

Agree! However, I guess they are trying to appeal to this target group's softer side. Remember, their old gal lost the election and Bernie is getting way too old. So why not start off with a poor hipster girl who looks like she's getting major league Chemo. Not in their market.

That was precisely my first thought. Figured if she had one, it would be drab gray with black plastic/easy-to-hose-down (the chemopuke) interior - ya know, nothing quite so 'date ready', yet maybe a few pillows and blankets in the back.
And a small dog that stinks.,
No, no, no, no way in hell! Not TNIP's little buddy, 'Chester The Molester' who clearly ate the entire stash of viagra, so it's time to ship him to Cranabanana...
DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!!!
Do NOT fall asleep and breathe through your mouth anywhere in the same neighborhood where THAT dog lives...

A. Dog womans face looks a bit strokey...shes got that wounded look that seems a little off-putting'
B. Granola kid is a brick short of a load--note his perpetual 'double wink'--I've met a few folks like that and they are simply not all there... C. Christ the singing is APPALLING even for neo hippy Subaru owners cancer girl is ok and gets a pass

It's not that the singing is "sappy" - it's just BAD. People who can't sing should never be asked to sing on TV commercials - especially high-profile ones. Somehow I think the implication is that it's "cute." It's not. And I have no problem giving respect to a park ranger who has done many good things. But singing is not on the resume, clearly, and we shouldn't be subjected to that.

^Maybe not in New Jersey...if you are going to disagree with someone like that, you SHOULD provide the CORRECTION. Let me provide you a perfect example - it is almost 6 minutes, but worth every second! If I may be so bold, I'll say just like my many successful stuents, you'll understand 'correction' as, if you always understood 'correction', as though you are and always have been an 'expert' in 'correction'.
1:48-2:18 : Jack explains his understading of where Delbert's family is...
5:19-5:56 : Delbert 'corrects' Jack's understanding, but not Jack.
A little 'mood music' at a setting that would make even PaW comfortable because 'All work and no play makes PaW a dull boy".

If Subaru keeps this "love" tag-line going, I'd like them to include (in the glovebox) a travel-size bottle of KY-Jelly.

...all day long I've been looking for a decent, used Subaru - think I mentioned above that I've decided to 'try one' for a few years. Beyond design and performance (in relation to speed), these cars get very high marks, especially when it comes to operations in very bad weather.
Just can't find a used one with under 100k miles for under about $12,000...
