A few of us here probably remember the fight with Sonny Liston that made Ali not just a superstar of boxing, but a bona fide celeb.

Or was that Cassius Clay?

RIP to both.

This is so sad.

Sadly, i'm not surprised, he was in failing in health for years. It was just a matter of time.

I still can't believe he's gone!

RIP, Greatest! And let's emphasize the word GREATEST -- boxing, humanitarian, humorist, all around wonderful person.

A true loss for all.

Too many deaths this year to great people. Can't believe Muhammad is dead. I did not see that one coming. I truly HATE the year 2016. This year has been a truly sucky and horrible year!
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D.😀 Hitting on a Lesbian who speaks to you and about you like trash means you're REALLY desperate! 😀

Disapproved-d-d-d-damnitnow!
~~~
Another day, You were Cassius Clay
Then Uncle Sam did come say, "...time to go and burn some hay!"
You immediately found religion and a new name for all to see
Let's call you 'Muhammed Ali'
Soooooo...my cousin took your place in the great Asian war
As you collected dollars and entertained all, door-to-door
Now my cousin's back, preaching from a tent
And you suddenly became 'heaven-sent'
But you dodged a bullet, now didn't you?
~~~
RIP...thanks for the years of entertainment, your cute li'l daughter, and probably being one of the originators of irritatingly, over-the-top 'black pride' expressionism. One wonders if we could get Bobby Zimmerman to write a song for you now that I've penned a simple poem in your honor - he even has permission to use my words.

*I'm* exhaused, doncha know! What's a man got to doto get some peace?! Go alive himself?"

IT isn't feeling this alone, so it seems...

SpazNews(CNN): Is 2016 the year of celebrity death?

LOL
How deep people think and how little sticks...

Certainly, when most of us were younger, death was not a day-to-day event. Maybe once or twice a year, eh? However, as we got older. a strange phenomena occurred - the pace picked up! And doncha know, as soon as we noticed the pace accelerating, it simply started moving faster!
Then again...
Time is passing
We're all getting older
Nature is taking its course

The pace isn't picking up, no.
We're experiencing the closure of a generation.

True, but I think there are also a lot more celebs these days.  The more celebs, the more dead celebs.
