Anyone see the Spanish ones with Danny Trejho? Those are very entertaining!
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

I like this ad.  And I like the choice of music - "In the Pines" - pretty wicked.

^  Yeah, I just listened to it in its entirety.  Interesting.  I really like it, especially the point where it transitions into that electric bluesy sound (after about the 2-minute mark).

The guy plays some strange guitars.

Those are called "cigar box" guitars and are actually fairly common.

A lot of people are into building them nowadays.

You can download plans for them.

I've been thinking about making one myself.

You certainly won't go broke buying guitar strings.

They normally use three, four or six.

Do a Google image search and check out some of the cool designs people have come up with. There are some really cool ones!!!

This one is nice....

That's just absurd.

Looks like something Nigel Tufnel should have played in "This Is Spinal Tap"

If you think the guitar is absurd, check out its video (I think someone posted this here once before).  Simultaneously, as magnificent as it is awful.

Gee, I wonder why they weren't more popular...

I hate "show off" guitarists.

All about speed and flashiness. No soul.

I have never seen such a thing! Pretty cool if those guys were playing them.

I tried to find 'Me and You and a Dog Named Boo' played on a Cigar Box guitar.
Sorry Jimbo, no luck. Wink

If I ever make one, I'll video myself playing it and upload it to YouTube.

Agreed. Typical of the glam rockers of the 80s. All style, no substance!
