I hate to use the old saying, but "don't knock it until you try it." Sure it sounds kinda gross, but I'm sure most new foods do when they come out. Look at it this way, it has to be better than kale.

And I am curious, has anyone here tried it yet? If so, could you please leave a review?

In all seriousness, if you do try it, please post a review. I'm tempted. Especially since we have a Pizza Hut across the street. But like I said, I'm cheap.LOL

It might be OK if they used quality links but I suspect they use 69 cents per package mystery meat wieners.

Some "good quality" slimy Bar S dogs.

Nasty. I hope not. Even if they are Oscar Meyer, that would be ok.

This "thing" looks absolutely revolting. Makes me wonder if those weenies have been soaking in putrid weenie water juice for hours before being rolled into a pizza crust. Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, weenies and mustard? GROSS.

Those are exactly the ones I was thinking of. Chicken and pork byproducts plus who knows what filler. Yum!

Big smileSo you've experienced their sheer deliciousness then? Glad I'm not the only one. Mustard doesn't help. Nothing does.

Well, our local weekly alternative newspaper posted this "less than stellar" review of it....

Pizza Hut's new hot dog pizza is a deathtrap

Other reviews have been somewhat more positive...

Pizza Hut's Hot Dog Bites pizza is the ultimate sports pizza

So I guess it just comes down to personal preference.

^ This why I won't be the guinea pig, besides the fact that I'm cheap. Someone here. Not a critic that may or may not have been paid for a good or bad review.

I'm still doing it!  Tonight!  Bad (and hilarious!!!) reviews don't deter me!  No siree!!!  I'm more determined than ever before!  Mr. Aleen will likely look down his snobby nose at me but BAH!!!  I was going to write a review high-end NY Times style, but I can't be arsed!  But oh yes, I will be trying this pizza!  Tonight!

My question is... if you're going to pollute a pizza with hot dogs, why not just slice them like a pepperoni?

I think the pigs in a blanket crust is a better gimmick.

I'd buy that before I'd buy a pizza with sliced hotdogs as a topping.

Although, come to think of it, if they were good dogs like Nathan's or Sabrett's, I might think about it.

OK, I tried it last night!  I tore into the hot dog bites first.  They were slightly buttery and pleasantly salty.  I make no distinctions between "good wieners and bad wieners" because let's face it, it's all just ground up animal parts!  LOL  The crust surrounding the mini hot dogs was tasty and I say thumbs up to the hot dog part!

I then realized that I ate the part of the pizza that I was supposed to hold onto while eating the pizza part!  Oops.  So it was messy!  The pizza part tasted like your standard Pizza Hut pizza.  If you don't like Pizza Hut pizza, then you won't like this pizza.  Me?  I like any sort of combination of bread, sauce and cheese!  I usually get a pan pizza from Pizza Hut, but this pizza was not a pan pizza crust.  It was thinner and I guess more like a standard pizza.  It was the same dough that surrounded the hot dogs.  It was fine.

Was it worth the $$?  Probably not.  It was hot dogs...and pizza.  All perfectly serviceable but really what's the point of a hot dog crust on a pizza other than novelty factor?  LOL  And now I'll be taking it to work in my lunch for the next two days!

However, I will still bring one along when I take a picnic with Jimbo!  We'll get a Hot Dog Bite pizza from Pizza Hut, a Little Caesar's Hot and Ready pizza, a bunch of gas station food and we can pour soda into plastic champagne glasses!  Picnic perfection!!!!  Big smile

Hmmmmmmm.... I have just over 12 bucks left on a Visa gift card just waiting to be used up on something food-related.

And with this Saturday being the 4th of July.... what better way to celebrate it than with a HOT DOG ENCRUSTED PIZZA?????

Of course, I'd have to skip the 2 for $5 Big Bufords at Checkers that I was planning on having.

I think that would be a bit much all in one day....

woah.. wait - hold the phone. Checkers is having a 2 for $5 Big Buford sale???

I'm going to the beach on Sunday which is an hour away BUT they have the only Checkers around. We were hemming and hawing between Checkers and Shake Shack (I've never been to Shake Shack) but the 2 for $5 seals the deal!
