RIP, Jerry.

I have to admit, I wouldn't have known who this gentleman was if I didn't read your link.

Ah man...sad.
I admit I was not TOO familiar with him other than his time on the Muppet Show and a guest animated stint on  Scooby Doo.
He led the scooby gang to his whereabouts by way of singing a country song or something.

He died of emphysema.  I guess the "Smokey" finally got to him.

RIP, Jerry.

Wow, we lost a great one here. Jerry Reed was one of my favourite country singers of all time.

I still love the grin he gave when he portrayed The Snowman in Smokey and The Bandit, especially when the Snowman drove his rig over the bikers bikes.

I heard it said once that his role in that movie pretty much defined who he was, and that character was a pretty good ole boy.

R.I.P. Jerry, we loved you

If Burt Reynolds suddenly died, they could race across heaven to smuggle in Coors beer.

I could not begin to guess how many times I watched Bandit.

My favorite quote was from Gleason.
When I get home I'm gonna punch your mama right in the mouth, because there's no way you came from my loins!

I remember him from "Smokey and the Bandit," but I mostly remember him as the meanie in "Gator."  I liked the movie a lot, but then, I was pretty young.  I don't know how it would hold up these days.

RIP, Jerry.

This should've been in the Best Songs I've Ever Heard thread, because that's what it is.

That's a shame; I will always remember him for that affable smile of his.
