"Ho ho ho, let's cut 'da Hoe!..."...or "Santa Does 20 in Cook County".
WHO needs something like this?! If ya work in a warehouse, ya already gots a box cutter - MORE style, BETTER grip, MORE predictable 'blood splatter'! This is like giving lil'white chilluns an instant ticket to hell.

Is it small enough that I can sneak it on a plane?

Just tell 'em it's your credit card and you plan to use it soon after take-off...they'll understand.

Yup, I can see the hand sliding onto the blade very easily.

I immediately thought it looked like something I'd get hurt on.

^Indeed! Think I checked to see if I had a cut on my finger after watching the commercial. My next thought was to invest in Band-Aid stock.

Scarier than cutting myself is the idea that terrorists might smuggle these onto planes.

I got a couple of these in a "Mystery Box" from some deal-a-day site, and yes, it's a fairly dangerous knife. The handle is super flimsy, and tends to "unsnap" under any real pressure.. meaning not ONLY could your hand slide toward the blade easily, but the blade could fold toward your hand easily as well.

Modern version of a Swiss Army knife? Howzat? Where's my little scissors, my tweezers, my tiny saw, etc? What, because it folds? Pff.

The thing that really cracks me up though is the cutting celery thing. Yeah, it'll cut celery, if you're careful.. but why not just buy a cheap santoku from Walmart and go all Fruit Ninja on dem stalks?

Grip stability was my concern as well, it looked like something that would be too flimsy to use safely.

Also, Victorinox makes plenty of "modern" Swiss Army knives anyway. My Swiss Army knife not only has a blade and scissors, it has an LED flashlight and a pen too.

I was just looking on the Victorinox website and I even saw one with a clock in it. I've had a Champion for years, and use it almost every day. I've used the scissors so many times that I'm on my 4th spring. Now THAT'S a knoif.

This little foldy thing isn't without its uses though. The tackle box idea works, just to have a spare blade in case you birdsnest your baitcaster. I put some of that sheet magnet stuff on the side of one and stuck it to the side of the freezer in the garage. Now when I come home from warehouse stores, I have something at the ready to cut box tape with.

Other than that... I certainly wouldn't own one if it didn't come as part of my box-o-crap.

I just saw this today, WTF?
I agree, it looks dangerous as hell, no matter what you are trying to cut, you need a knife with a blade that locks.

It's an anti-terrorism device...the terrorists will accidentally sever a finger and bleed out before they have a chance to cut the pilot's throatTongue

Yeah, it seems no matter what tool you're looking for, if it CAN be put in a knife, Vic will have a model with it somewhere. Mine is a Midnight Manager, and I've used just about every tool on it at least once. You get the blade, scissors, a nail file with a flathead screwdriver at the end, a bottle opener with a wire stripper(I have never used this function) and a phillip's head screwdriver at the end, pen, and LED light.

The screwdrivers are small, but they are useful at Christmas time, the niece and nephews get toys that often have the cover for the batteries screwed on and the little Vic drivers are just the right size. I've jotted down phone numbers and doc's appt days and stuff with the pen(I can never seem to find a regular pen when I need one), I work in a hotel that sells beer so the bottle opener has been used to help customers...

That's another advantage a big, bulky, Swiss Army knife has over this foldy thing.. You can't mistake it for a condom when you're fishing through your wallet at crunch time.
