Oh I didn't mean I am gay with the Gomer Pyle comment.

I'm just kind of a naive rube about some things.

A dope, IOW.

I didn't know people still listened to the radio.

It must be a generational thing... as in, old farts from my generation. Big smile

I'm 22 and I love listening to the radio. Only if the playlists weren't so repetitive. Thank the big corporations for that.

Radio = 3 minutes of music --> 10 minutes of loud, obnoxious commercials.

Rinse, repeat 24/7.

And it doesn't matter what time of day. They still play 10 minutes of commercials even after 11:30 at night.

I listen to three commercial-free radio stations---WFMU, WFUV and WXPN. Check the lower end of your FM dial. You probably have something similar in your areas.

By law, stations from 88.1-91.9 must be non-commercial. In Toledo, we have mostly religious stations but we also have an NPR affiliate with a heavy commitment to classical music.

You can stream pretty much any radio station. WFMU has people around the world streaming the station.

You can also listen to archived shows going back 20+ years.

Did any of you ever listen to Dr. Demento?
Don’t be a dick to your dog! He is a few years of your life, but you are all of his!

The song Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath on the album Black Sabbath is the first and last word in heavy metal.

Yeah, there's been heavier metal since, but none of it took the leap that that first song, first album did.

I will give props to Blue Cheer for their cover of Summertime Blues.

I hadn't seen it. I just saw aka's mention of one of my top fave artists, and started typing.

Pretty good.

Yep!!

I saw that.

That's why I didn't have to scold you or try to shame you for not commenting like I did with Thor.

Sometimes getting him to comment on a post is like pulling teeth!!! Wink
