It's that time of year when Chia Pets and The Clapper commercial make their annual round, every year at Christmas! it's become a Christmas time staple. I just had the pleasure of seeing them BOTH within a 30 minute time frame! The Clapper commercial they aired(the one with the burglar running away from the house, and the lady clapping off her TV at the end) is the same one that I've been seeing as a child, and I was born in 1982! Talk about outdated! The Chia pet, although updated to modern times with the Duck Dynasty Chia Pets, is just plain stupid. All you do is water a plant pot and watch the Chia grow.... So boring...

I hate that clapper commercial its so outdated and don't know why they're trying to push it now after so many years with newer inventions have been made to turn stuff on and off. I especially hate that old broad at the end of the commercial who claps her tv off like she's royalty or too damn good to get up and switch it off her damn self.

A Youtuber on a Clapper commercial once asked, "If you have The Clapper, and you are watching a TV show with an audience who claps, will the lights in your house go on and off suddenly? that be kind of upsetting, LOL..." Good question....

I've only seen the Clapper on channels that old people watch, like GSN, which is appropriate because they're the only ones who would ever buy it.
My grandma refused to get a remote control for her cable box until the day she died. She used one of those big boxes with the clicky buttons that was wired to the cable box. She also loved her Clapper. She could lay in bed and turn off her TV, cable, and light without getting up. She thought it was a technological marvel. I'd like to see what she would think about smartphone apps we have now that can control everything in your house. She would probably think it was witchcraft. |

I propose a new Chia, and exciting Chia. My new Chia would come with a tube of that stuff they use to glue gift card to the cardboard, a 48-pack of "snakes".. those firework things that you light and they grow.. a can of hair spray and a Bic lighter. Simply smear the clear goop all over the Medusa head Chia and cover with firework snakes. Stand back 6 feet and aim the hair spray over the lighter and burn that bitch! WooHoo! Watch those snakes grow.. just don't look at her ey *turns into stone mid promo*
