Oh, I can remember that easily.

But ask me what word comes after "Nightmare Before" and I could sit there for an hour.

What's the word for when you spend half a day trying to remember who it was in that movie that did that thing....when suddenly, in the most random and inappropriate situation you shout out "CAROLE LOMBARD! It was Carol Lombard!

If you two actually yelled "Carole Lombard" and "Calphalon" spontaneously, I'd call it Tourette's.

And, Mad??  You smacked your own head??  Hmmmm...sounds like the neurological disorder commonly referred to as "headbanging".

I do that a lot. Well, the trying to remember some celebrity's name part, not the shouting out loud part.

Recently I spent a couple of days or so, trying to remember the name of Claude Akins. Before that, it was Gretchen Corbett.

I coulda just Googled them, but I refuse to do that. I will not take the easy way out. I am going to force myself to remember whatever name it is if it takes a month, dammit!!!

Besides, it's good exercise for your brain.

I just go thru the alphabet. Start with the letter A & think of combinations, then go to B & so on.

Eventually I'll hit a combination that ignites a spark of recognition etc., etc.

I think a lot of it is just for the challenge.

^^ It seems like every time I'm in one of those situations that I can't think of the celebrity or song name to save my life, I don't have access to Google to take the easy way out LOL

For celebrities, you start with Kevin Bacon and work your way back along whatever connections (6 at most) he had with the person you are trying to remember.  Works every time....  LOL
