When I first started driving gas was 32ยข a gallon.

I remember how upset everyone got when prices shot up to 50ยข a gallon.

When it hit 65ยข, we didn't know what we were gonna do!!!!

When I was a kid it was like $1.25 on average. I say this as someone who had very little clue about what we were buying or why, but I was the look-out for the lowest price when we were in town.

Up until the $1.89 recently, I cannot remember a single other time I've seen a $1 as the first number.

It hung around 2 bucks for awhile here, which surprised me.

They're saying that by the end of the year, it could be down to around $2.25 a gallon.

Maybe even lower...

Well, we finally got our new kitten named Little Bit.

She's very cute and rambunctious almost three month old kitten!

Took a while to get her but it was well worth it!

Got home from my mom's house at exactly 3:00 pm. I know because I was rushing to make it in time to catch the beginning of "Leave it to Beaver" & pulled into the drive at 3:00 on the nose. Got inside & got the TV on just as it was starting.

Just a little while ago, my stomach was hurting a bit, so I figured a little milk might soothe it some. Had an unopened quart of Gossner's shelf stable 1% milk from Dollar Tree, in the fridge. Opened it & took a nice glug at which point it occurred to me via the vile taste, that the damn stuff was spoiled!!!!

UGH!!!!!!!

Gulped down a bunch of tap water then had to rinse my mouth out with antiseptic mouthwash just to get the taste out of my mouth.

Now I'm afraid I'm gonna get sick later on.

I'll never buy that stuff again!!!!

^ Yuck. You have my empathy. I remember having Silk Almond Milk in my fridge, along with Normal cow's milk, and, I soon ran out of the normal milk, so I decided to drink the Almond Milk. It came out in chunks, despite an expiration date roughly 2 months ahead. That was f**king nasty!

Well, , I was standing in line at the grocery store to buy my items, and there was a guy ahead of me cussing loudly into his cell phone. I laughed, amused, but as he continued cussing for minutes on end, I soon had an annoyed and disgusted sneer. I thought, "God, this guy really needs to shut up! It was funny at first, but it's now more annoying than funny." Luckily, he paid for his items and left.

Just came in from outside where a doe and two fawn were hanging out on the front lawn.

Mi amigo Larry from CA will be visiting today, maybe staying the night. He's been in NYC and visiting a friend's parents in PA.

^That's crazy!!!!

I only mow mine once every 10 to 12 days & down here, grass grows really fast.

If there's one thing I hate, it's when I mow my yard one day, then look at it the next day & see that it's already grown a little.

You have different kinds of grasses down there, Our grasses grow upward and need different maintenance schedules.
I mow early which means it's still wet from dew, it will clump up if I let it get too long.
Gotta keep a little couth here in this high end of town.

Made $50 this a.m. switching out an old mercury filled Tstat with a digital one and installing a ceiling fan in a tenant's unit.

Scrapping appliances is a good way to make some extra money.

A friend used to scrap with another guy. The other guy would pick stuff up off the curb whenever he'd run across it. Just stop, toss it in the pickup and take it to my friend's house who would start stripping the copper out.

They'd pick up a few hundred bucks every three months or so.

In the old 'hood, we had big garbage pickup 3x/yr.   Scavengers went around looking for anything metal.   Copper was an extra-big score.

I used those occasions to get stuff for my house.   Loved finding wood things that just needed some refurbishing/refinishing.

Trimmed all the bushes on the side of the house.   Did the ones in the front last month, but at that time, too many bees were enjoying the little flowers on one of the side bushes.   I had no desire to piss them off.

That and you don't want to take their food source away.

It's important to give the little buggers as much food as possible.

There aren't too many flowering plants here, unfortunately.

What really sucks are the sticker bushes.   They're not bad-looking, but dealing with them is a bitch.   Why would anyone plant such things?   The only thing I can imagine is that the previous owners wanted plants that deer might not be interested in.   Yeah, there are deer around here, but not enough to determine what you're gonna plant.

Sticker bushes are a good home security measure if you plant them underneath windows and along fences.

Bouganvillas, Spanish Bayonettes, etc.
