The horse scene was the only part of Blazing Saddles I remembered from watching it as a young kid (I don't even recall spotting "Willy Wonka" in it).   I didn't even know what it was from until I watched the movie for the 2nd time years later, only to find out there were many many more great and hilarious scenes, both with and without Mongo, besides the horse that I likely didn't "get" in my youth.

RIP Alex.

He was the dad on Webster.  Also did Monday Night Football when Don Meredith temporarily went to NBC. RIP

Alex Karras wasn't a bad actor at all - in fact, over time I forgot he had anything to do with football.
