Looks like it's destined to be a comedy classic.

This looked more like a sequel to 2012!

Why the hell is there a movie about a board game, and why is Rihanna in it?!

What's next, Monopoly? Sorry? Trouble?
It's ok, I'm in marketing!

Awesome comment. I wonder if the characters call out the numbers during battle .... "B8, you sank my battleship!"

I guess the producers feel this that if this concept worked for Clue, maybe it'll work for other board games.

I think they stole a line from Star Trek. If you pay attention near the end one the Navy guy yells "Fire everything!" that's exactly what Nero says near the end of Star Trek. Geek

Might as well be a board game.  Battleships have been obsolete since WWII. So, 1 battleship is gonna save the world?LOL
"Fire everything! Before we go down" glub glub

I think the circular things are the missiles that they launch to inflict damage I guess. I still can't see the reason it called Battleship WTF?

Is the goal of this movie to throw out as much CGI sCensoredt as possible?

I think the goal of this movie is to get as many as possible to watch it before it goes straight to video.

Battleships. Because when giant spaceships with advanced technology have declared war on Earth, our only hope are museum ships from WW2!

I remember the first time watching a promo for the film in a theater. It really confused me because in the beginning it started off as some sort of top-gunish movie featuring Liam Neeson. Suddenly there were aliens and then I saw the title "Battleship" and I was just wtf!?

Independence Day already claimed the alien vs. top gun honors. So a alien vs. warships movie would be the logical follow up.
Wonder if Aqua man shows up.

No, but his lisped half-cousin Riparian Rupert does making a cameo.

Sure, why not. Probably couldn't make things worse. Might even make it better. Considering that Craig Ferguson likes to play Aquaman on his show, having him in the movie might make it intentionally funny.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZU5uH015kU&feature=related

Just out of curiosity I googled that name and got this as the top result:

"Riparian Evaluation in Prince Rupert British Columbia"
