So, with regards to "the countdown", what are we talking here....

Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Days?

I'll just assume you mean days, so....

14...

Check back in tomorrow.

Actually, I'm thinking a sepearate thread is in order.

It's already been started, hon.

And we're counting you down from 14, not up from 1.

I think it's subconsciously easier that way.

The idea of going downhill rather than up.

You just hang in there!!!!!

That's OK.  Just yesterday, I bought Yoo-Hoo powder at the Dollar Tree to add to my usual Fruity Pebbles breakfast.  So, when stuff like this bills itself as "healthy", it doesn't make much difference to me.  It's not the kind of thing I look to for its health benefits.

Hmmmmm..... lessee, 3 million dollars paid out to consumers across the country....

After the sleazy lawyers take their cut, that should come out to about a 10ยข off their next purchase of Nutella coupon for each member of the suit.

Yippee.

I'm back on cereal after having given it up in order to lose weight, from 2/07 to 10/10.  That was when my bro and sis-in-law came to visit, and they left cereal here after they left.  And because I don't waste food, I had to eat it.  And because Cocoa Krispies mixes so well with Fruity Pebbles, I had to buy a bag of Fruity Pebbles.  And because I had so much milk left after that cereal was gone, I had to buy more.  By that time, it was too late.  I was hooked.  So, right now I have Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Krispies (the generic versions) and Reese's Puffs in my cabinet.

That's fine, though.  I'm at an OK weight.  Recently dipped into the 160s.  I could lose another 10lbs, I guess.

I tried the Fruity Rings from the Dollar Tree recently.  They're like Fruit Loops.  However, they're fairly awful.  I was most disappointed to discover that the purple wasn't grape, the green wasn't lime, etc.  In fact, there was no discernible fruit flavor.

Maybe I'll try those Oat Blenders, too.  That is, when I feel like I need a health food.

You know, Malt-O-Meal makes a couple of fruity multi-colored cereal also.

They make good cereal, & it's cheaper than the "name-brands" too, so....

But then, being as they sell it at Dollar Tree, maybe this is what you got & didn't like....

Yeah, I got the Fruit Loops simile at the Dollar Tree.  They were a different brand, though.

I get the bags of Malt-O-Meal Fruity Dynobites at the supermarket next door to the Dollar Tree.

Did I mention to you that the horseradish sauce available at the Dollar Tree goes very well mixed in with the powdered mashed potatoes?

No, but I'll have to give it a try.

Sounds like a nice, quick mid-week dinner.

Thor and Jimbo,

I know both of you are cheap frugal, you buy cheap economical foods.

Do you ever just let it go and buy things that do not meet the cheap inexpensive standard?

Are you ever tempted to buy a choice steak or big ol' lobster tail?

I'm far from rich, but I do occasionally treat myself.

Naaah.  Not so much.  Part of that is because I'm not particularly interested in steak or lobster or any expensive foods.  Sometimes I'll go out to eat, but I always think how much better and cheaper I could make the food myself.  But if I'm with people at a restaurant, I figure I'm paying for the enjoyment rather than the food, so it's worth it.

I'm glad they got called out on their BS claims. Nutella on "whole grain toast" does not a healthy breakfast make. You guys I'm going to make a breakfast product too! It's going to be called the bacon beast fest on whole grain bread. You get bacon and eggs stuffed inside a sausage patty fried in lard, topped with 4 kinds of cheese but IT'S ON WHOLE GRAIN BREAD SO THAT MAKES IT HEALTHY and because it's full of fat your kids are going to love you! Yay best mom ever!
It's ok, I'm in marketing!
