Where is my checkbook? Confused

$400,000.00

I shouldn't be surprised, the event I'm watching has 'Rolex' as the title sponsor, "but of course".

The Ford GT is an American mid-engine two-seater super car that was produced by Ford for the 2005 through 2006 model years. The designers drew inspiration from Ford's GT40 racing cars of the 1960s. A completely redesigned Ford GT is planned to enter production in 2016.[2]

Wild!

Saw another Ford sold at Barrett-Jackson this weekend for more than a quarter million.

This 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible sold for $253,000.

What a weird coincidence this thread.

Right before I saw this thread, I had just began watching a Mecum auto auction that took place last week down in Kissimmee about 30 minutes south of here.

Every kind of rare, restored awesome classic American cars imaginable.

Most going for around $300k.

A couple of cheaper ones pulled in around $160k.

Great news guys.... With the Air Hawk, flat balls are no longer a problem!!!

These cars at these auctions are all special for one reason or another.  You can actually get a classic car in great shape for much less than these cars go for.  Granted, it probably won't be the high-demand ones like the 55, 56 or 57 Chevys, but it could be a 58 or a 67 or something like that.

They just sold a 1970 Ford Torino "King Cobra", a car that never went into production, so only a handful ever existed.

Looked just like this one...

Sold for $525,000.

I had some buddies that drove those classics in the late 70s.
My dad had a '71 Corvette with a 454 and sidepipes.

Would be worth 6 figures today.

I was coming home from the store yesterday and pulled up at a red light next to a dark midnight blue, mid 60's convertible Vette with chrome rims and wide tires, etc. Truly beautiful, flawless car.

Seeing this auction on TV, that took place just down the highway a week ago, I'm now assuming that's where it likely came from.

How bizarre!

Coincidentally, Barrett-Jackson sold a version of a 57 Chevy called the "Morocco".  It was supposed to look more like a Cadillac Eldorado.  Only about 30 were made.  This one sold for about $150,000.
