I really dislike ALL of these commercials.   They act like we are a third world country throwing away good food, knowing children are starving all around us, all the while ignoring the horrible truth as to why there even are hungry children in America.

That being said, school aged children now get breakfast, and lunch in school, free of charge, regardless of income in most all schools now.  Also, the majority of schools have programs in place to send children home with food for dinner/after school hours.  Also some send home food for the child for the entire weekend.

THEN, when school is out for the summer, there is a feed the children for summer program, and they are fed during the school summer recess.

Nearly EVERY student who is hungry for lack of food, can be traced back to parents who are mismanaging their food stamps in one way or another.  These kids should have MORE food at home, because since the kids are being fed at school, the food isn't being eaten at home.

But mom is either spending food stamps on junk food and the adults eat it all up while the kids are not present, or they are selling their food stamps for half the value for cash, to go out and party, get alcohol or drugs.

So, while there is an abundance of food in this country as the commercials say, mom and dad are not buying them with the benefits they have.  Feeding America should be holding classes for parents on how to shop and budget their food stamp benefits and cooking classes on how to make nutritious meals on a budget.

Bingo!  Clap

I hate the guilt-shaming tactics at the supermarkets here with their Help Feed Children During The Summer programs.  If you can't feed your children during the summer because the taxpayer-financed free food is cut off, then why are you having more kids to feed?  It's not my responsibility to feed your brats.  Angry

I saw this commercial creep-back up again!

I sooooo hate the "Apples and Bananas" song!
Thank God for kids who love Obscure Things.

Parents should be feeding the kids.  It's basic animal instinct, and the least a parent can do.  Okay, maybe not the least.  The least would be giving birth.  That, apparently, is where some people are at.  They give the birth, and the government does the rest.  The government is glad to oblige.  Thank you, government!
