I was talking about this gizmo in another thread.

And yes, I know I must sound like Mr Recommendit here with two threads in a row, but I just happened to purchase these items in close proximity to one another.

The D-Link 932L wireless internet ("Cloud") camera.

I bought it back a couple of months or so ago, then about 3 weeks or so after getting it, finally set it up.

In my original post in "Random things...", I spoke briefly about the issues I had setting it up. They tell you in the videos that it's a breeze & for some I imagine it is. If your router has a WPS button, it's probably a snap. But I had to go through a lot of rigmarole including temporarily disabling my firewall & antivirus, downloading & installing a new version of Java, downloading a firmware update, etc, etc, etc.

And even after that, I still could not access the camera from the website on my laptop. The android app worked OK, but without being able to get it to connect via the MyDLink website, I couldn't access some of the controls, including being able to switch it from night vision (infra red) to day vision (color). Plus, over the tablet, the audio was choppy & broken up. Worked, but not as well as over a computer.

I will say that their tech support people in the Philippines, are very helpful & knowledgeable. After a second call to them, I got all the remaining issues ironed out & now it's working fine.

Below is a promotional video. Of course they again repeat that the setup is a breeze, but take that with a grain of salt...

Bottom line, the setup might be a bit of an ordeal, but the tech help is very good & after you get it up & running, it's worth the money & effort if you're looking for a way to watch your home while you're away.

Great news guys.... With the Air Hawk, flat balls are no longer a problem!!!
