Just when you thought their ads couldn't get any worse:

Bad. I mean just totally awful. I would not ever subscribe to their service if it was given to me for free.

GAG same here, the accent is the cue to mute. BUT I'm torn because I find the tiny giraffe as cute.

Ugh. Why, oh why must we have another ad with open-mouth chewing and crunching?  He also speaks with food in his mouth! Angry Dead Cry Plus, not another "See us on Facebook" note in an ad.  Why would I want to visit DirecTV's facebook page? There's no point of them having one outside of using it to advertise crap.  Yeah, I'll follow an ad's advice to go to another ad stream.  Just because you can use social media doesn't mean you really need to.

Angry I'm glad somebody posted this--some at work think this is "cute."  Didn't think it was funny at all, even before they showed the poor, little giraffe.  This is so sh*tty.  I just hate that we keep showing people who have so damn much money they don't know what to do with it and so they try to find things no one else has.  I know this is an exaggeration, but we have people every day trying to emulate these rich a**holes and that's why we see people who buy exotic animals that they can't and won't take proper care of.  This kind of crap really happens because people don't like something about an animal so they breed "it out of them."  Like cats called munchkins and their front legs are only half as long as their back legs (just one of several examples). I know it is just a commercial but they could have found other (really entertaining) things to use.  I just wish the giraffe had spit on him or bit his lip or something--NOW that would have been funny.

WTF is it with More on Facingbook? WTHF?

I wanna bash his skull with the bust of him and steal his tiny giraffe then I'll invite the two girls to simultaneously kick him in the balls.

The Facebook crap has to end.  And the more I see this commercial, the more it pisses me off.  The subscribers to DirecTV (the majority of them, as I see it) probably cannot relate to some douche with a Eastern European accent with fragging gold everywhere, beautiful (fake) women, and a tiny-ass giraffe.  DirecTV does not = opulence.  Sorry, stupid reach ad people.  This one is just below the "Franklin-headed" DirecTV commercial on my hatred scale.

I was also wondering what he was eating at the beginning. Were they olives or grapes? No, they're golden grapes! It looked so gross (they must have filmed it in DirecTV "HD Lite"!).

No, they're just saying that if you have DirecTV, you can act like a "Dollar Menunaire!" There's nothing "premium" about them other than the NFL package.

The little giraffe- it's fake, right?

Ha... this guy can't even get a widescreen TV. Not impressed.

Over-the-top phony accent, doesn't even sound like a real person. Even talks with his mouth full. Fail.

Apparently, he has some weird fascination with genetics, he must have hired some scientist to produce a tiny giraffe. Sick.

And lastly, I hope his body turns green from all that fake gold furniture. Burn.

You are right--I didn't notice this before.  And why is the TV all behind them at a weird angle like that?  I hope that's not how they watch their shows, with their neck all craned to their right. Shocked  They might as well have placed the TV on the ceiling.  The fullscreen TV in this ad is like the Dish Network ad I posted on here about a while ago where they were harping the company's HD programming, yet all of the TVs in the home that you saw were 4:3 fullscreen TVs that looked like they were bought in 1987. LOL

Is this ad just for standard def DirecTV, not HD?  I'd not be surprised if it is for a HD package, yet the TV is 4:3. Cue the clueless customers calling in to DirecTV asking if their 1970s 4:3 TV can get HD quality channels, since the TV in the ad looks like theirs. Unhappy

What I thought was why is the giraffe so damn small. This is just weird and bizarre. It has to be a computer model since a giraffe could not be that small. Even a baby giraffe is bigger than that.

Also did anyone else notice they are using the dogs playing poker from that painting as well.

Mischa.

Just me, but I think they are conveying that he is so rich that he can have anything he wants--that he can use his money to breed (or have bred) a miniature giraffe.  That's why I got so pi**ed about it.  And that's stupid because why would you want to be like this A**hole?!

The question is really why would anyone want a giraffe as a pet?  Talk about being random.

Yep, the cue for the mute is his stupid face, the accent and the gold colors. Direct TV has the worst commercials. This is 100 times better though than the talking zaggy blue line and suddenly sounds like it croaks and that annoying voice comes on saying "Hello ladies" or something douchey like that. Screw DTV.

Why pick a russian guy? Why the sluts surrounding him? DTV has gone to selling 'sex' it looks like. Commercials suck!

THANK YOU! My thoughts *almost* exactly...I'd suspect a 'tad light in the loafers' Russian gangster.
Probably rides a Zundapp, just like all the others (although this one is FANCY - but probably right UP his 'alley')
