Known collectively as "liquid water enhancers", these are very concentrated, artificially sweetened, very low-calorie drink mixes that come in little pocket-sized squeeze bottles that you can carry around with you.

I've tried a couple of different brands & they're all about as good as the other, but the one I seem to have taken to the most is the Dasani Pineapple & Coconut.

Pretty good if you can deal with the taste of artificial sweetener.

Just recently, I started doing something a little different that makes it a bit better. I've been making half gallon bottles of unsweetened tropical punch flavored Kool Aid & sweetening it by the glass using a combination of regular granulated sugar, sucralose & a bit of agave nectar.

Kind of a PITA every time I wanted a drink.

So today I said WTF & put a shot of the Dasani Pineapple & Coconut in the Kool Aid instead. Not bad.

This stuff is very convenient & easy to use if you don't mind the diet beverage taste. They are a good way to flavor up a drink of water anywhere you go.

And if you're a cheap-o who orders water when you go to a restaurant, you can take it with you, put a shot in your water & have a free beverage.

I just picked up something like that at the Dollar Tree today.  Wyler's Light, grape flavor.  They also had fruit punch flavor.  Haven't figured out how I'm gonna use it yet.  Maybe I'll add a drop or two to my diet cola, maybe make some grape milk.  I've actually added a tiny bit of grape flavoring (some other sort) to cola, and it's pretty good.  Subtle, but good.

Also got a 15.5 oz box of Post Honey Bunches of Oats "Greek" with some sorta berry/fruit/yogurt stuff in it.  When I went to pay, I noticed a coupon in my wallet for $1 off any Post cereal.  So, I got this box for free.

Don't think I recall ever seeing them at the Dollar Tree.

The best way to use them is to put them in water, but of course, you can also use carbonated water like club soda or seltzer water, too.

I just tried it with the tropical punch Kool Aide because it was totally unsweetend to begin with & the two flavors (tropical punch & pineapple-coconut) seemed compatible.

I might try making some unsweetened iced tea & put some in that.

Yeah, it must be a new item there.  I'd never seen it before.  It was in the aisle with the juices and powdered mixes.

Try it with club soda. You like diet soda anyway & you also like experimenting with non-traditional soda flavors using those syrups. Being cheaper & easier to use than the syrups, these things might be right up your alley.

Yep.

Some friends got a SodaStream, and made me a soda---grape and lemon flavors combined.  Excellent.  Maybe I'll look for some Dasani or Wyler's lemon flavoring and get some sparkling water or club soda.  I could probably even use concentrated lemon juice.  They sell that at the Dollar Tree, too.

I checked out Wyler's website & they do make a Lemonade flavored enhancer.

If it's not available at your DT, Dasani also makes one (as do a few other brands) & they are available at any grocery store for around $2.50 - $3.00.

A little bit of lemon Kool-Aid in combo with the drops might work, too.

True.

And if you didn't require the carbonation, you could make up a half gallon of unsweetened lemon Kool Aid, then pour some in a glass & add a shot of your Wyler's Grape.

Of course, if you had a Soda Stream, you could carbonate it after putting the flavoring in it.

A few years ago, I was at a yard sale right around the corner from my house, & could've bought a water carbonator (not a Soda Stream) for 5 bucks.

Wish I would have, now.

I'll check in occasionally with the friends of mine who have the SodaStream to see if they're still using it, or if the novelty factor wore off.  It could be one of those things that when the carbonator runs out and you have to replace it, you lose interest.

I picked up a bottle of this stuff...

MiO "Sweet Tea" flavored water enhancer.

This stuff is great!!! I hate artificially sweetened beverages, but you cannot even tell that this stuff isn't sweetened with real sugar.

Great stuff!!!

Got a bottle of this too...

Also quite good, but I'm not as big a fan of lemon iced tea as I am of regular. One good thing is that this brand comes in a bigger bottle so you get more.

I'm waiting for them to start doing one in their "sweet tea" flavor too.
