I've enjoyed going on a couple of local (~15 miles away) hikes since Inslee lifted the state lands ban! By myself, no groups. Flowers all in bloom and (last Friday) deer grazing away on a nearby hill!
Will be doing it again on Friday when I have no work or virtual classwork to deal with.

The beautiful scenes from our ridges and hills, the deer grazing, the flowers, etc etc. shows us one thing - WE WILL MAKE IT! Americans will return stronger than ever when this is over, and hopefully it's on its way out soon. In the meantime, make sure to order takeout from a *local* restaurant. They deserve your patronage.
Currently suffering from COVID19 fatigue...

^ Of all songs...Smack My Bitch Up???!

(You can hear these words at the very end of the commercial.)

Maybe that's a suggestion for those husbands sick of being stuck at home with the wife?

Can't do that here.  Not because it's verboten, but because it has all the challenge of clubbing marshmallow Peeps...

"Smack My Bitch Up" is a song by English rave group the Prodigy. It was released in November 1997 as the third and final single from the album The Fat of the Land. The song was voted by Mixmag readers as the third greatest dance track of all time.[3] Although the song was not as big a commercial success as their previous singles, it gained a cult following.

The song caused considerable controversy because of its suggestive title and explicit music video, which depicted scenes of drunken and drug-fuelled sexual excess and violence. The refrain, which consists only of the line "Change my pitch up / Smack my bitch up", was sampled from the song "Give the Drummer Some" by the Ultramagnetic MCs. In 2010, the song was voted as the most controversial of all-time in a survey conducted by PRS for Music.

Not sure how closely this remake video resembles the original as it was banned from MTV, which probably means it's banned from YouTube as well, but from what little I was able to see of the original, it probably closely follows it.  Can't post it here because it's pretty raw for CIH.

Lyrics

Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up
Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up
Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up
Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up
Smack my bitch up
Eaaaheeyheeaheyyyee
Aaahaaahaaaaaaaaaaahha
Eaaaheeyheeaheyyyee
Aaahhaaaaa
Aaahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Smack my bitch up
Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up
Change my pitch up
Smack my bitch up

I just realized that was a TNIP "re-mix"... LOL

I should have known right off the bat they'd never use such a song, but I just didn't really think about it.

I'd love to know which software he uses to separate the voiceover from the original background music and then replace it with something else.

He does a great job with those. Thumbs Up

Reminds me of watching an episode of COPS, when the one officer was talking about "Breaking into your shed". His southern accent was so thick it sounded like the other word.LOL

They've got one with a narrator impersonating Florence Nightingale showing a montage of closeup of tired/beat-up looking nurses to the tune of sad/dramatic music. I assume it's an angle from a company that makes socks or charges $50 for masks, I changed the channel because I did not want to sit through all of it.

I swear, all this somber Covid commercial music is actually making me depressed. As soon as these commercials begin, instead of feeling the warm, comforting "we're all in this together" feeling that we're supposed to, I actually feel this wave of dread---"Oh God, please, not again".

C'mon! Do we have to be reminded constantly?

I think a good idea for a COVID-19 commercial (if we must have them) is to replace the somber piano music with upbeat guitar music.   And instead of making the dialogue seem like a PSA, make it more something to the effect of "no matter what life throws at you...........".

Just a thought...........   Geek

Yeah, you totally got me on that one. 'Cuz, except for those lyrics at the end, the music went well with the "have a dance party" theme in the commercial.

Some law firm is saying...

"We are here in these trying times, working for you!"  STFU!

It was one of the RoundUp CAL commercials.  Too damned much work to look up.

God!  Please help us all!

If you have the guts to watch the whole thing.  You must have a lot of free time on your hands.

I knew in the first 5 seconds.  With all of my problems and anxiety, I sure as hell don't need any tax problems.  Next year will be a cluster f*ck!

We get a somewhat shorter version of that same ad around here.

There is one part of it I do like, though.

Right around 4:05 - 4:10 while Deanna is talking, zoom in or full screen it, and look over her left shoulder in the meadow behind her.

Little guy couldn't have timed it better!!! LOL

I've seen that AARP ad numerous times. I'm starting to get tired of it, but the people who are AARP members tend to be the ones who have serious complications from the virus, so I'm not surprised they put an ad out.
