At 62, I don't think I'm even eligible yet.  How will it interact with my other medications?  There have been some allergic reactions.  I don't know if I even want it...Who has to pay for it?  The taxpayers?

Who is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and where do people get vaccinated?

Wisconsin has over 1,200 COVID-19 eligible vaccinators across the state. Much like your flu vaccine, there will be options for where you get your COVID-19 vaccine. People will be vaccinated at many places including: health care providers, pharmacies, local health departments, places of employment, and mass vaccination clinics. Local health departments are coordinating many of the local options. Remember, Wisconsin does not have enough COVID-19 vaccine to vaccinate all eligible populations at this time.

Both me and my father are eligible as we have both pre-existing conditions. We're trying to call the local health department to make an appointment for the first vaccination. They have not responded back yet.

I wonder if one were to hold off long enough until everyone else in the country got one, said person wouldn't need one because the virus would have died off by then.

I guess I'll get one whenever I become eligible.

Maybe I can stop dragging my mask around with me everywhere.

The medical experts say they still recommend masks even after both vaccinations, to protect people that haven't had vaccinations yet.

I bought 10 cloth masks back in May, I have only used 3 of them.  My nose is runny this time of the year.  I may have to break out a new one and wash the 3 I keep in my truck.

I ran out of one of my prescriptions. The only pharmacy in town is in a former Hardee's building, it has a drive-thru.  I usually see 5 or 6 cars lined up when I drive by there to get some food.  I HATE to wait for anything!  I went by there today and there was nobody at the drive-thru. Even a simple refill takes a little bit of time.  It was only 20 bucks!

Think about the scope of this crisis and what it might cost to fix it.

What is the population of the United States?

331 million people
The U.S. population today, at the start of 2020, numbers just over 331 million people. The U.S. is the third largest country in the world, outnumbered only by the two demographic billionaires, China and India, at just over 1.4 billion and just under 1.4 billion, respectively.Jan 2, 2020

How many people are over 60?

the number of Americans age 60 and over increased by 36% from 50.7 million to 68.7 million.

Yeah, I'll get it. I don't mind waiting though. At least by the time it's my turn, any side effects will have been figured out.

I really just want to stop wearing the mask. They hurt my ears. I also want the self-serve hot food and salad bars at the supermarket to reopen.

I believe they call something like that a "first world problem".

Yeah, well that's pretty much the only effect this pandemic has had on my life. I'm still working, not going broke, still have someplace to go every day.

I feel sorry for kids and teens having to take classes on line, not hang with friends. not do things young people are supposed to do.

And what about sex? I'd like to see if the birth rate from December and January is down.

I am way too young (20s) to be in any phases right now. It won't be out for me until at least summer.
Mom on the other hand, is 61, is starting to get pulmonary fibrosis, and she is not eligible in any phases, now or near-future. WTF?!! For all I know, she should be able to get one with those conditions.

The WADOH rollout has been a mess. Yakima County is still waiting for their next shipment and they have ran out of all Moderna/Pfizer vax's from the first dose. Not only that, but last week, Gov. Inslee announced a few new sites for mass vaccinations. And Yakima was not one of them. Benton County was! Who has the higher rate of infections...ummmm yeah. Yakima. And it's not like you can fully prevent infections. You have masses of essential workers there, working in packing plants and in farm fields. High number of Hispanics and many are farmworkers. Plus more nursing homes and clinics.
The only county here that has done well, ironically, is the one I reside in now. Kittitas. They have been killing it. All nursing homes/assisted living vaccinated. Most teachers vaccinated especially high-risk. Rapidly vaccinating 65+. All schools in Ellensburg are open, in hybrid, with masks and all of the other restrictions, yet very few cases reported by teachers or students. Same with the Kittitas schools and Cle Elum/Easton.

While the effective rate is only 66% on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that could roll out any day now, I am getting excited about this one than Moderna/Pfizer. J&J is a one-dose, one appointment vaccine. They expect 100,000,000 vaccines by June. Give one dose to the remaining seniors and those with more than one co-morbidity or lung issue...boom. The pandemic falls like a rock. I'd rather get the J&J if I had to, and avoid having to get two shots of Moderna, especially since I have to wait several weeks between shots.

And keep in mind, according to the CDC, no flu shot has been more than 60% effective in the past 10 years. The Johnson & Johnson one-dose Covid vaccine is more effective than the recent flu shots.
Currently suffering from COVID19 fatigue...

I'd personally rather get the higher effective, two-shot vaccine just to be better safe than sorry if the J&J one isn't that great.
