Oh man I gots the sads.

It's tough being the family Kissinger checking on everyone. You ever realize how useless people can be until they're well useless.

The local library opened up (finally!) today.  Went inside, all the tables & chairs were removed, direction arrows all over the place on the floor, most computer stations closed down (you have to reserve them now), and all the employees were cowering behind the sneeze guards.  Bummer was that there was no card catalog/computer to look up books (I had a list), and the Info Desk person mumbled something about looking them up online (I'll just wait a month and try again.)
But at least they are open...

I assume this is in Georgia or Texas. Most other states haven't even thought about opening public libraries yet.
I'm sure they will all be open throughout the country in some degree by summertime. There may not be activities for a while however.

Unless, of course, we're all dead by then.

^ LOL

This song is more about bad breakups.  I still love my wife, she is still paying the bills. I wish her well.

Do you recognize that melody or the song that it's "sung to the tune of"?

I will post the video later today or tonight.

Let a few more people have the opportunity to guess.

You or Thor or Mr Tim might figure it out.

I'm "hearing" two different songs:

Is the original about a car?

Or was it a song sung by a military man?

I'm hearing both Mercedes Benz and Ballad of the Green Berets.

It sounds a little like Mercedes Benz, but a lot more like The Green Beret song...

Barry Sadler died in a hospital in 1989, five years after being shot the head while sitting in a cab in Guatemala City.

Listening to that for maybe the first time in 50 years, I'm struck by how similar it is to White Rabbit.

A couple of songs from our Alt. Rock station.

I had the 45 when I was a kid.

Might even still have it.

My dad bought it for me.

This was the flip side, which I liked a bit better....

Well, it's not like I'd bought the album when I was a kid. I got it at some used record store in SF in the 80s. Might even have been the Salvation Army. It's among the 12 feet of record albums I've lugged around the country (and which I'll probably never listen to again).

Funny, though, how you never heard this song after it was a hit. It was the #1 song of the year on 77 WABC radio, fer Chrissakes!
