I also love the kitty and the wolf.....very cool. I wish I could figure out how to do those sort of things on the internet. I can't even figure out how to post a bloody photo on this site. I'm no good at the whole "cut & paste" stuff. I'm a right pillock when it comes to this stuff.

I wish I could get some carry out from Jimmy's restaurant! No fever and my cough comes from smoking. I'm probably going to be okay. Only the good die young.

Ever been to Brownsville? Near Mammoth Cave National Park. There's a Christian retreat there called Camp Joy. They have a two story dormitory style building, a covered, open sided pavilion surrounded by a large empty meadow and a swimming pool, Back in the early 70's when I was about 15, I was taking a karate class at a large local Baptist church with a big gymnasium where we worked out. The class was affiliated with an organization called Judo and Karate for Christ. One summer they held a week long martial arts camp there. People came from all over the country. A bunch of us in my class got together, went up there in two cars and stayed for a week. Went to Mammoth Cave while we were there. I got a black eye before we even arrived. On the way up, we stayed overnight at a hotel in Bowling Green. Right after breakfast, some big, older kid invited me to engage in a little sparring match out in the parking lot. I figured we were just playing around but he "accidentally" hit me in the eye. Worse yet, he was wearing a big ring, so he cut me, too. I only had a slightly blackened eye, but the more obvious part was the white of my eye turned red from the broken blood vessels. Everyone was messing with me about it when we got there. Had fun, though. |

Never had a reason to go to Brownsville, but I have been to Mammoth Cave. Great tours. Especially when everyone is in this big cavern and they turn off the lights. I don't know of a word that describes something darker than pitch black. Worth the side trip if you're ever traveling close by. You guys really have a strange idea of fun...black eye and broken blood vessels? Yeah, that does sound like fun! |

Believe me, I didn't consider that part of the trip fun. The kid was bigger and older than me & he knew he shouldn't have done it. Claimed it was an accident but I knew better. Anyway, as a scrappy 15 year old kid, I wasn't going to cry or get down in the dumps about it and the rest of the week was fun in spite of it. And besides, it was afterall, a martial arts camp. One expects a bit of rough and tumble. |

I suppose a black eye might also be considered a badge of honor to a teenage boy. So glad I'm a girl!

Well, if nothing else, it certainly was a conversation starter on the first day we got there... Everyone I met had something to say about it. (BTW there were girls there too. ) |

Damn. Hope they salvaged those cars. Back in 1981, right across town from where I live now, a massive sinkhole opened up and swallowed part of a city block. One of the businesses was a Porsche repair shop. A few cars went in the hole, though they managed to save two or three. A couple of them didn't make it, though. Whatever is left of them are at the bottom of what is now a pretty deep lake. |

I did have an uncomfortable moment today at the convenience store. They were busy! There was some old guy at the counter and the cashier was telling him that that card won't even work here. They have two registers, so I go over to the other one. The old man is still trying to find the right card. The guy waiting behind the old man was a good 6 feet behind him. Me! I'm hovering right next to this guy. (2 feet behind) but he gives me the stink eye. I guess I'm not used to this yet. Don't worry dude, I won't sneeze on you.

At Walmart, we have markers 6 feet apart on the floor at the registers. 6 feet apart, I guess, is better than 6 feet under.
