I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but what is the best and worst TV provider you've had in all your years of watching TV?

Without a doubt, the worst was Erie Cablevision. In the 90's it was the ONLY option if you wanted pay TV and couldn't get a dish. They would give you this ridiculous "slide-box" to change the channels... it was a thick, yellow plastic box with a metal lever tipped with a white pointer that you "slide" across this light-up panel with numbers on it. And sometimes the lever wouldn't reach the numbers at the far side of the panel, so you had to hit it a few times to get the thing to move. And the plug connected to it would get really hot and start to make a buzzing noise, so we had to buy a giant-sized heavy duty plug that could take all that heat. Eventually we bought a cable-ready TV and ditched the slide-box. The local commercials were excruciating, and they were on ALL the channels. When I finally got my own place, I swore I'd never do business with local cable again, I don't care how freaking expensive dish providers are, and they ARE. Ouch

Sounds like nostalgia to me! Slide boxes to change channels, definitely a throwback from 1990 or so.
None of the cable providers have been very bad, but Spectrum kept increasing the prices and never gave us a credit for 6 months when KCYU (FOX) was pulled off thanks to carriage disputes.
Then DIRECTV did the same thing and never gave us a credit either for...what was it? 7-8 months? Of the SAME Fox affiliate off.

Sadly I'm not old enough to remember the 7-foot C-Band dishes of a different generation. Where you could find superstations galore, news feeds from all over the place, watch Jeopardy days before it went to air, and hear Al Michaels swearing during a MNF break. If I had a time machine to go back to 1990 and had a dish installed, I'd fill many VHS tapes worth of stuff.
Back after a long absence...still hating those commercials. Go away Limu Emu and Doug!

Without A Doubt Bright House was One Of The best TV Providers ever, Why? Because Bright House had great Internet service and good Cable TV. One of The Worst is Spectrum, Why? Because they have unreliable Internet and they changed our mother f**king cable plan, They removed the premium channels and all the nickelodeon channels exept the regular one and many more.

Barden cablevision was the best. Wasn't perfect, but when things went wrong they busted their asses trying to make it right. If it was an equipment failure they were Johnny on the spot to fix it or replace it with no extra cost. If it was a signal error, once fixed they'd throw in a few days of premium channels. Then around 1995, Comcast bought them out and it all went to sh*t. Good luck even trying to get someone on the phone, let alone trying to get someone on the phone that speaks and understands English. That is if the automated prompts don't drive you nuts.
I don't have a problem with LGBT. I'm just sick of seeing them on my tv all the time.

Let's go Brandon
