Yesterday, was one of those rare days when I didn't take a shower. Yes, I brushed me teeth!

When you are a man in your late 50s, who is losing his hair, you don't go out without some sort of ballcap in the summer...stocking cap in the winter.  I don't need to worry about how my hair looks.

I'm hoping some of the female members will ring in on this. Let's hope all of those other areas are nice and clean. Embarrassed

I've used dry shampoo before, but not the spray kind. Still do.

I used to have a couple of small plastic shaker-type containers of a German brand that you applied to your hair like bath powder.

Works good if your hair is only slightly oily.

Then I found out that it is only talc and corn starch. You can use baby powder or bath powder and achieve the same results.

WinkThanks for posting this, aka - the whole concept of 'dry shampoo' makes me think of 'flea spray for pigs' - women who hadn't been told it is safe to shower daily. This suggests if a guy is dating a girl that uses Batiste, he better have a condom and some of that RID-X stuff, to avoid 'CRAB SOUP'.

Actually it takes a good 5 minutes or longer.

Sometimes you aren't home or somewhere you have access to a sink, water and shampoo, or you need to hurry up and go so you don't have a few minutes to spare or... sometimes you just don't feel like it. Maybe you're sick with a cold and don't want to get your head wet.

If one uses one's imagination, one can think of plenty of situations wherein one might rather just sprinkle a little powder in their hair and rub or brush it in, rather than run their head under water, lather, rinse and repeat.

Also, caretakers of elderly people often use that method because really old people can't always just jump in the shower on a whim.

Etc, etc, etc.

Etc.

Wow.  My entire shower (including shampoo and shave) takes about that.

I guess the biggest difference between us in that respect, is that I try to actually get clean as opposed to just getting wet.

But seriously, if you're talking about getting undressed, showering, shampooing, shaving, drying off and getting dressed again, I'd have to witness that with a stop watch in hand.

As for the dry shampoo, suffice it to say that sometimes actually washing ones hair with water and regular shampoo is not convenient.

By "stopwatch", do you mean your hard cock?

Seriously though...I didn't say anything about getting dressed.  But my shower, shampoo and shave takes 5 minutes.  Maybe another 30 seconds to squeegee the glass shower doors.

Re: the first comment: Like.... ewwwwwww!!!! Totally gross!!!!!

BUT...... if you're talking about taking a shower PRIOR TO GOING OUT SOMEWHERE, which is what I was talking about using dry shampoo for, then you have to include the other stuff that must be done both before and after the actual shower itself.

A proper timing would be: crap (5 minutes, WITH wiping), shave (4 minutes), brush all of your teeth (4 minutes), shampoo and shower, using washcloth or loofa over entire body (10 minutes).
That comes to: 23 minutes
Anything less is simply putting lipstick on a pig...and please - maintain your distance.

My crap is outta me practically before my butt hits the seat.  If I'm on the toilet for 5 minutes, it's to smoke a cigarette.

Shaving is done in the shower.  Takes maybe 30 seconds...not even enough time to muster up a smile like those guys on the TV razor commercials do for some goddammed reason.

Now that I think of it, I don't really wash my legs.  I just figure the dripping soap and water will take care of whatever leg dirt I may have.

Brushing my teeth is something else---not done in the shower (but that's not a bad idea).

When sitting in the executive board room, you can always tell who bought their suit on the way to work, but even easier, is telling who shaves or brushes their teeth in the shower. Simply disgusting! They get the crap assignments and never get invited out for drinks!

Well, I've not tried it myself (being a "city boy" and all that), but I suspect it takes longer than 23 minutes to put lipstick on a pig!

As to the 5-minute shower, I'll bet you could take one in half that time on a cold winter's morning when there's no hot water left!  Cry

I've been forced to take cold showers beforeCry...that's probably why we only had 5 kids.

Oh, no no NO!!!!

On such a morning there would be NO SHOWER for me.

No sir.

It would be more like a pot of water warmed on the stove, some soap and a washcloth.

Done that a few times.

I use dry shampoo on occasion, but it's hardly like washing my hair. I have oily skin and hair and it extends time by maybe a day. Washing my hair in the shower is always preferable, but when you wash your hair it's wet and many women dry and style their hair and that takes longer than washing for some women. I don't really do much styling personally though. If you look at the commercial, though, the woman uses it to change her hair style when going from day to evening, not avoiding a daily shower.

Same here.

I've used it before when I had to run out real fast and didn't have time to shampoo my hair with water.

It's just a convenient way to make your hair APPEAR as though it's clean when in reality, it could stand to be washed.

I remember this stuff from many years ago.  It never made sense to me.  The grease is still there, but you're covering it up somehow.

I can take my shower in the time of a normal commercial break.  It takes about 15 seconds for the hot water to get to our bathroom.

Soap up a washcloth, wash my pits, privates and my face. Get my hair wet, shampoo and rinse in about 2 and half minutes.

I still have to comb my hair, apply some deo, shave (maybe) and brush my teeth and I'm done except for getting dressed.
