There are few things that annoy me more than an athlete, coach, or sports personality on television going on and on about "at the end of the day." At the end of the day, people who use this tired cliche have nothing of value to say about sports, and are incapable of forming or expressing any opinion without repeating phrases they've heard others say a thousand times.

I've always hated when sports reporters shove a mic in a players face and ask lazy leading questions like "How important was this win?"
As if any player is ever going to answer "Not very. We could've dropped this game and perhaps the next and still pull out this series..." ![]() |
