I didn't think this commercial was so bad when I first saw it, and it is still not as grating as "Joel" the rapper, which was hate at first view.  However, now it's getting near-constant airplay on daytime TV where I live, and this chick's perkiness is starting to wear very, very thin.

Do they really think those glasses look good on her?

The only eyeglass frames that I ever thought looked good on anyone, were aviators.  And even then (especially then, as the bigger the frame, the more distortion), the eyeglasses themselves have to be pretty weak/thin, otherwise it looks like you're wearing coke bottles.  This is the reason I got contacts in 1977, and never looked back.

I find all of these comments hilarious because I am the girl in that commercial. Sorry if I'm too "perky" but that's what the client wanted.

Hahaha, if this is true, it's awesome. Is this the first time where someone in the ad being mocked actually showed up here to defend themselves?

Ha!  Yesitsme, we can be pretty brutal here when we dislike a commercial or its actors, so take it as a compliment that neither you nor this commercial has garnered that much criticism from us.  Smile

There've been a few times when we've suspected that people who've registered here just to defend a commercial or the actor, were actually the actor themselves.

We've also had reps of companies register and respond to our complaints here.

I don't see what's wrong with this commercial, I've never seen it more than twice either so...

It's good see LensCrafters & Luxotica have well priced competition to their overpriced crap! After seeing that 60 Minutes story about Luxotica and how they overprice their glasses, as well as how LensCrafters is involved we stopped buying glasses from LensCrafters. I'm wearing Luxotica brand now because it wasn't as overpriced in 2012 as it is now. Plus it's before seeing the 60 Minutes story also. I'm damn sure the next glasses I get won't be from LensCrafters or Luxotica!
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Well, suspicions are one thing, but have we ever had someone flat out say "I AM the actor" before now?

Wow on the company reps though...surprised they'd care enough to reply tbh.

^  I don't recall that happening, DKS.  We did have a member who was a commercial actress, but she was just here as a member like the rest of us.

I'd take the claim that the poster is the actress in the commercial with a grain of salt. I have my skeptical doubts that she is the actress.

^  No, I think it's her.  It just doesn't make sense that someone who's not her would go looking for this commercial, and then sign up on a website just to say that the actress we're talking about is her, unless it actually is.  On top of that, a poser would've had to research the actress' name, and then put it into their profile---for no real reason.  Just doesn't seem like someone would go to that much trouble to make one, single, false post.

Yeah, that was my line of thinking too. If you're gonna pretend to be someone, why pick someone that vast majority of the world has never heard of, on a forum that, to be honest, isn't a really massively populated or trafficed board in the overall scheme of things to begin with? And their post wasn't even particularly troll-like, there was no fighting with or insulting of the members(compare that person's post to the various "You people must have no lives to sit around talking about commercials" fly-bys we usually get) like other people who show up, make 1 post, then leave... Even if you were gonna troll the board by pretending to be a commercial actress/actor that you aren't, why pick this particular one? By our standards the commentary here has been pretty tame, and this thread isn't as active as a lot of others...why not troll the Yoplait Swaportunity thread or something if you really wanted to pretend to be an offended(or slightly bothered) commercial actress?

I agree. That's why I asked her flat out. I was going to ask some questions and see how she responded. Needless to say, we'll likely not see her again.

Exactly.  You'd think a poser would rather pose as Flo or someone we all dislike.

If it actually is her I also, even though I'm the one who started this thread, have to respect her for coming on this thread and defending herself.  I still think the commercial is annoying and a little unbelievable.  Who on earth becomes so excited about a two-for-one eyeglasses deal with a free eye exam that they start jumping on the bed?  But I can't really blame the actress for it if that's what the client wanted.

And I'd rather see this commercial in heavy rotation than "Joel" the rapper anyway.

Yeah, I remember for some Kayak commercial where they would shoot flairs through the ceiling, a woman claiming to be the actress in that commercial came on here and got a little pissy, lol.

I agree with Joel.  I think she's a hottie.  But then I might have a thing for cute girls with glasses.
