I don't really have anything against this commercial other than the frequency with which it airs.

We leave the TV on all night and one of the few channels that doesn't switch to infomercials at 3am is Investigation Discovery.

Almost every break has one of these spots, and sometimes it runs twice in a spot set, even running back to back.

Not sure what the target demographic is for the ID channel but I get sick of waking up to hear that moron in the knit hat saying "This Place..." followed with the announcer saying "This Place...". After a few airings it almost sounds like the announcer is being sarcastic.

Somehow I've gotten cued to popping awake to that phrase.

I do however like the little bubbly fountain that comes up about halfway into the spot, I could watch that for a while.

It's not as bad as the one with that little creep that says "I know because I used to be an addict, and now I'm NOT!"

Check out the Joe Jonas lookalike who woodenly says his line as if he is reading off of cue cards or is literally just saying his rehearsed lines. LOL. At least the woman actually seems kind of sincere....

So many things are good in this life, and unless enjoyed in moderation, you can destroy yourself and those around you.

Moderation.  Yup.  Robert Palmer was addicted to love, and now he's dead.

We are all a victim of what we make of ourselves.

When did you turn into such a cynic?

Robert Palmer was cool.

These people are the most unexcited, emotionless people I ever saw!

Stick a gram of coke or a drink in front of them and I'll bet they'd come alive again.

I doubt that after the frontal lobotomy they recieved at "this place", even that would excite them.

OMG they play this commercial ALL THE TIME at night when I watch TVLand. I thought for awhile it was for a place actually called "This place". I don't know why they have to repeat that phrase a zillion times in the commercial or why they have to play it so much.

^ I've gotta say I enjoyed Robert Palmer and was shocked and saddened by his untimely death (age 54) of a heart attack.  He was a good guy and had loads of talent.  I still miss him.

I am an addict, and I looked up reviews online on American Addiction Centers after seeing this commercial, and the reviews say that AAC is a scam. One reviewer said they became even worse after going to AAC than they were before going.. :O

All I have to say for this on is..
SUNGLASSES Cool for you, lady. (Or less meth) And SHAMPOO, DUDE. You need to wash your hair, buddy. Before somebody slips on your "drippage". Did you both just show up today? I'm not trying to make fun of addicts, but ummmm, when you are making a commercial about treatment, at least tell them to take a shower first. Unless you have no control... I mean, if I was to go there, I wouldn't want mr drippy as my roommate. Sick Anyways, without further ado...

Say something clever here...

No, I'm too lazy. Imagine it yourself.

It's so quiet out here in the sticks it's just nice to have some noise.

Unless of course the damn thing starts screaming out infomercials way late in the night.

On occasion I'll pop on the radio and let George Noory conk me out in a couple of minutes with all his flying saucer talk.

Been awile since I've heard his name. I think Pax Pentiss is his hero.

"This place . . . . SAVEDMYLIFE."

-Hat Boy

I once saw an incarnation of these ads where they mentioned something about insurance. I was surprised because I assumed it was all out-of-pocket rich douchebags that went to places like this.
I was under the assumption that if I checked one out and mentioned my health insurance that they would probably laugh and tell me that no health insurance is going to cover a three month stay in one of their cheaply constructed but pricey palaces.
You probably have to have some badass insurance to afford this place.
Also, notice how they don't have any locations in cold weather climate areas. Pussies.

^Many health insurance plans cover out-paient services for the functionally-addicted who don't believe they'll ever relapse (fat chance); I'd think one would be covered for a percentage of in-patient anywhere, under their supplied short-term disability, but they'll probably relapse too - once they are cured and can comprehend the portion of the massive  bill left behind for them.

I had to resurrect this thread after seeing this commercial a million and one times already tonight.

First off, what is with the lady with weird ass redness in her face? It looks like she put make up on under her eyes and then just stopped. (I'm not trying to be mean, I am sure it's rosacea brought on by drinking or something but couldn't they have covered it up?) And her saying "you're safe" 3 times in a row. GOD.

The best part? The founder and his oh-so compelling statement: "I was once an addict and now I'm not." Well, if that isn't one convincing statement, I don't know what is! Sign me up! Ermm

^ Actually, that is a plausible statement. Someone can be a Cocaine Addict, almost die from overdosing, and after getting revived in the ER, think about how much their drug addiction hurt their loved ones, think about how much money they wasted buying Cocaine, think about the all night rages they had when they really actually wanted to go to sleep, think about begging people on the street for money to fund their Cocaine addiction, think about the jail time they did for theft to fund the addiction, think about the Prostitution they did to fund the addiction, think about the fact that they let Cocaine almost kill them, and think, "What the hell was wrong with me? I do not ever want to touch Cocaine ever again. I'm done with that shait."
My name is Donathan, pronounced the same way you pronounce Jonathan, except with a D. :D $608 for her brother's scooter. Fair is fair my ass. Being tough on Public Access TV is priceless.

Oh no, no, no. I totally believe it is a plausible statement. Heck, I am recovering alcoholic myself. I just don't find the way he said it at all convincing. I have no doubt the guy was an addict and no longer is, but I just wish he had said it with more conviction or something. Maybe a teeny tiny short bio that he struggled for a while, but this place (ugh) helped him out of it. I don't think I am explaining it properly since it's 3:10am but I hope I made my point....somewhat...
