A few Shriners Commercials

I can't help it and I know its terrible but..... I hate some of the commercials Unhappy

and I know I'm not alone. There are three in particular. Covid commercial where the older boy Alec is zooming with the little one Kaleb. Now, its so obvious now that Alec is older they want to replace him with a little cute kid.

The second one is called "The Pitch" where all the kids are having a meeting in the board room to shoot out some ideas to get support for this special place. These poor kids...who wrote this stuff for them? How about kittens!

The last one is talking about how many surgeries the little boy Kaleb had...all excited like yahooo I broke every bone in my body and I had over 100 surgeries! Like its a happy little contest.

First of all.... there are a handful of multibillionaires in this country who could easilyasw afford to fully fund these hospitals in perpetuity without them having to beg and guilt trip working stiffs who are trying to support their families.

Second of all.... it's highly doubtful that the kids on screen are the same ones doing the actual singing of "I'll be home for Xmas" (emphasis on the X)....

And third of all.... I can't stand how, in every commercial Alec does in which he describes the free blanket, he says "adorable". He pronounces it "adowwable". Hey Shriners... how about springing for a speech therapist for the kid, eh?

Alec and Kaleb are probably millionaires.

Their families are probably living in big new houses and driving expensive new SUV's.

The one I hate the most is the "outside the box ideas" ad where they and a bunch of other little flids are all gathered together in what looks like a corporate board meeting.

I despise when kids are portrayed in adult world situations and given adult jargon to speak.

But with this series of ads, it's just doubly annoying.

Besides, if Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and a few of their billionaire buddies and multimillionaire celebrities and sports heroes aren't donating more than enough to meet all their needs, something is wrong here.

Middle and working class people should not be asked to give money they can barely afford to a cause that can easily be paid for by the super wealthy.

Sadly my wife donated to this cause and it cost me 20 bucks a month for God knows how long

before I caught it on one of the few times I actually read my bank statement

I went to the datalounge site: Wow...they are really COLD! But I do take issue with the CEO of St. Judes bringing in a salary of $1.5 million and his wife on the payroll for another $500,000. Guess where your donation is going?
